Had to look that one up Jules. Sounds really terrible. Sort of like Australian Vegemite which is really nasty.
Yes, it's similar to Australian Vegemite.
You either love or hate Marmite. There's no in between. Even the company which makes the stuff says so.
You get the idea here when they are getting tourists in London to sample it
If anything else crops up which people either love or hate here, well that's also called "a marmite product".

Ah, so that's how you get hold of PG Tips in the States.
Like the new profile pic. You really are exceptionally bald. Which on this forum, is a compliment.

Many of the larger supermarket chains carry it, but it's outrageously expensive to buy that way.

Thank you, sir.

Have a TV show here in the US, The Mentalist not a bad show, as far as I am concerened. I like the guy that plays Jayne ! He has a good since of humor and drinks his tea, however I think it may be Lipton, which I enjoy.

Vegemite is indeed an acquired taste ... which I enjoy whenever I have a rare chance to indulge due to friends visiting from Oz.

Vegemite isn't bad if I can't get Marmite, but Vegemite is not as strong!

That's why I prefer Marmite - stronger taste. Had some on toast for breakfast this morning. Can still taste it in my beard.

Oi! I can't start my day properly without a couple of slices of Vegemite on toast. It has got to be my second favourite breakfast food, very closely behind bacon and eggs.
I have to admit though, it does seem to be an acquired taste, there aren't very many people outside of Australia that enjoy the taste of it. To us Aussies though it is a staple haha!

I haven't had marmite in years, my grandfather used to eat it, I do remember it being much stronger then Vegemite, and at the time I didn't like it very much, but there were a lot of things I never used to eat that I enjoy eating now.

My first Vegemite.....I can still taste it. For whatever misbegotten reason, QANTAS served it-on toast points-in First Class en route from Perth to Mauritius and thence to Jo'burg. This was decades ago and, one fervently hopes, they've changed their menu. And it would be prudent to avoid in toto the subject of Australian "Champagne". Also served in First Class on the above referenced flight.

I had the great opportunity to be in England two years ago and tried Marmite (as well as some other cool things). I liked it, but I am usually one who likes things that are different...lol. I have found that the few times I have been able to go to another country and try something unique to their area, it is hard to find it in the U.S.. and when you do, it doesn't really taste the same.... (is it because of the hype of being in a different place?) I haven't bought Marmite here for that reason.
