I did the solo mustache for several years when I was younger, but not completely by choice. It was the first of my facial hair to develop and it was basically what I could grow, I always wanted a beard. Now I am not willing to give my beard up, I am am making up for lost time. I also don't want to show my face at my age, I do not think I would like to make the double chin and turkey neck visible.

My mom was a bit surprised but she actually bought me a foil shaver. She knew I was happy bald.

Was anyone interested in shaving their head as a kid? I was a fan of professional wrestling, and Stone Cold Steve Austin and Goldberg were two of my favorites, so I thought the shaved heads looked really cool. And when I was 12-13, Fast and the Furious and Vin Diesel were really popular, and I thought he looked really cool. I was really into action and war movies too, and I remember seeing Jason Isaacs with a totally shaved head in Black Hawk Down. I remember thinking to myself, "Yep, I'm getting that someday." And my mom was a hairdresser, extremely talented with both women's and men's cuts. So around that time I started asking her to cut my hair really short. Brushcuts, crewcuts, etc. And eventually my mom asked me if I'd want a total buzzcut. I enthusiastically said yes, so she put a #1 guard on the clippers and sheared me almost like a new recruit. I loved it, and so did everyone else. Even the girls at school complimented me. I continued with short cuts until I ironically began balding, and shaved my head at 27.
I would watch the kids on the scared straight maury eps or would see bald celebs and I definitely was jealous and wanted to shave since about 10.

So I have been shaving my head for quite a while, and just got the schick xtreme 3 razor. And omg it made me look the baldest I have ever looked. Want to know which looks better? Pic 1, pic 2 or pic 3. I could always go back to gillette fusion or shortest clippers if the balder look does not look as good.
I would say 1 but hard to tell if you have sideshadow. If not I'm jealous and may have to try a regular razor again- I have been using skull shaver

Mustaches have been in so gave it a try, have had this for over a year now and noticed lots of our fellow baldies doing the same. Easier maintenance, more compliments. Anyone else try it out?

I don't know how you do it Bill! I've tried to grow my hair back a couple dozen times, but always shave it off again. I did make it long enough to have a pretty decent flattop a couple times, but I couldn't stand it and shaved bald again. Once you start thinking about going back to a shaved head, you have to give in and do it!

Welcome back, or almost back. If I could, I would likely have a flattop part time as well. Even when I had hair, my hair texture would not hold a flattop, my growth directions were too strong, and wrong for a flattop. I did try it a few times, it just never worked.

Evening all. For the past many years I have mainly been flattop, but occasionally a close bald and sometimes bald. I decided 2 weeks ago to go to a shop for a close buzz - YES! But it's probably not close enough as I have the smooth urge. Today I went to a real shop and got a number one top and 0 sides. With my fine texture hair and tan it looks darn bald. See how the next few days ago. Will the tight burr/butch stay or will smooth take control? I have missed you all

Hi Marco and welcome to the board. Your shaved head looks great on you, along with your beard.

You look very good with a bald head. As long this makes you happy, I encourage you to keep shaving it.
