The worst part of being sly!
« on: June 10, 2008, 08:48:27 PM »
This is my biggest issue with being sly. it's not the looks, it's not the random people touching my head (I like that part  ;) ), nor the shaving or that I need to wear sunscreen more than ever.

No, it's that I keep hitting my head on things  :'(. Earlier today I was reaching under my bed for something and OW! :XX I knocked my head against the frame. Okay, thats fine, wasn't paying attention. This thing was pretty far back, so I decided to pay attention to where my head is, lean forward aaaannnnddd almost got it, watch the head, right th-OW! :XX :XX I hit my head again. What the heck? I tried again and once again my head hit the metal frame of my bed. I ended up crawling on my stomach to reach the freaking glasses.

It turns out all that hair kind of acts like whiskers for a cat. It lets you know without looking whether your gonna hit your head or not. Being bald isn't the same! You gotta watch out! Not regretting it at all, but OW! my head!

You guys ever experience similar issues?  ;D

Dan

I always have hit my head quite i bit.  It just hurts more when you don't have the padding.

Yes, no feelers to tell you how close you are to something. I do it all the time, lol.

Interesting theory. Since I've been headsahving, I haven't experienced an increase of hitting my head. You better watch that head of yours. For some reason your being kinda careless. Just keep some extra distance between your noggin' and nearby objects.

I've noticed that random tree branches actually scrape my head now, so I've got to be careful when I'm running or out at the park, but it's rare.

Maybe it's time to invest in a helmet IRDSM?    ;D

welcome J Hickman. btw-same problem with me and tree branches and be careful when entering and exiting the tub (assuming you have a glass shower door). I've ccloked myself real good on metal around the doors. It hurts but oh well./

Actually, you CAN get a form of helmet head(or in our cases, helmet "scalp")!  Am dating myself as a soldier but back in the "steelpot" days, I used to get the web imprints on my head from the webbing used as a liner for the helmet'   Same for the first generations of Kevlar helmts which used a suspension type liner.  The new Kevlars now use a football type/crash helmet padded inner liner so the web straps imprints are gone.  I use to get kidded some in meetings when I took my helmet off and had some webmarks on my baldv head

Yep, banged up my dome pretty good on the cabinet over my breakfast bar and man it sucked.  You just learn to watch out for the precious dome when doing things and you'll be alright - just takes time.

Scott I'd like to see you on one of those Chef Competition Shows.

Take your pic~
The Next FoodNetwork Star
Hell's Kitchen
Top Chef

An accident prone candidate would make for high drama and high ratings.  O0

Scott you've got to be extra careful with a bald noggin, especially when you're in the kitchen.  :(

I did something similar Friday night.  My dog was hiding under the bed because of all the fireworks.  After a while, I peeked under to see if he was OK, and when I was getting back up, I cracked my head right on the corner of the nightstand.  Hurt like a mutha!   :(

Last week I was wrestling with my dog, and he kicked off me knocking me over.  I then proceeded to hit my head on my guitar case, giving myself a concussion.  It was a good ten minutes before I could sit up without getting dizzy.
