Newbie

Hey Everyone!  Just wanted to say "hi".  I've been loosing my hair since I turned 30 (I'm 35 now) and trimmed it as close as possible with a trimmer this morning (see picture below) and I think I am going to take the plunge and shave it tonight.  My wife has been after me for a while to do it so what the heck right?!?!?!?

Me this morning:

Me and the wife a few months ago at a party (as you can see it was patchy at best)

Hi and welcome Chicken Hawk!  Should you decide to "go all the way", it will be a truly great change!  Lots of great tips and tricks on these boards, as well as various products to use before, during, and after shaving, so surf around and check them out!

Thanks guys!  I'm looking through the various threads as we speak, but one quick question I have is if there is a product (like nair) that you can apply to your head without actually shaving it.  I know NAIR is a NO NO because of the chemicals, but I've heard there are other items out there, but can't seem to find anything.  Thanks in advance.

Here are a couple of posts that talk about it:

Welcome to Sly Bald Guys Chicken Hawk!!  If your wife is for it, then you should do it man.

As for Nair like products, there isn't any that I know of that are safe for the noggin.  There is a chemical shave called Magic Shave, but in all honesty, it's really designed for black men and can cause severe burns on lighter skinned men, even when used as directed.

I just sent an email to Nair asking if they are developing or planning to develop a scalp-safe hair removal product.  If I get a response, I'll post it up.

LOL!  Note to self...."Noner is the one to talk to about lady questions".

I guess i will just do it the old fashion way and just shave it.  I sure like what I have read about the headblade.  I shave with a Mach 3 now so I guess I will shave my noggin and if I like it just order the HeadBlade shaver.

Welcome Chicken Hawk. I was in your shoes, looking over past photos and thinking, "I'm not foolin' anybody." It's good your wife is supportive. She won't be able to keep her hands off the smooooooth noggin'. ;D

Hi there from the UK ChickenHawk, I think we have all been there, and although not very happy with the hair situation i much prefer a total clean shave than faffing around with the bits that are left.

As your partner doesnt mind either then all is good,

PS have you ever noticed that bald guys are rarely with unattractive girls - this crossed my mind when in the supermarket this week - take a look when you are out.
A SBG's head shines so other SBG's always have the opportunity to see the reflection of how good they look!
