There are some advertisements that are so very annoying that they immediately send me looking for the remote so I make a quick escape. The Mucinex ads are a great example, as are the toenail fungus ads -- both of which always seem to air at dinnertime. There are also some really annoying cold remedy ads that run on the radio, involving a lot of noise-blowing and coughing sound effects.Pharmaceutical ads with their graphic descriptions of severe side effects that sound worse than the condition they are trying to cure are also high on my list. There's one now for a drug called Requip, which is used to treat Restless Leg Syndrome. The possible side effects are:Requip Tablets may cause you to fall asleep or feel very sleepy during normal activities such as driving; or to faint or feel dizzy, nauseated, or sweaty when you stand up. Tell your doctor if you experience these problems or if you drink alcohol or are taking other medicines that make you drowsy. Also tell your doctor if you experience new or increased gambling, sexual, or other intense urges while taking Requip. Side effects include nausea, drowsiness, vomiting, and dizziness. Most patients were not bothered enough to stop taking Requip.I'm really curious to know how this medication causes an urge to gamble?? So what are the advertisements that drive you crazy?
