I've often thought the same thing. It really shouldn't be necessary to advertise certain products. The people who need them should already know where to go to get them. The people who don't need them don't need to hear about them. -

Actually I pretty much despise any and all commericial breaks. I don't watch TV that much, but when I do I am SUPER engaged and can't stand the interruption.
I keep the remote close by and toggle between shows during commercials. Have it worked out where I know commercials last 3 to 4 minutes.
When a commercial break comes I toggle to an alternate program. If there are commercials there too, I hit the play-button to watch a pre-recorded Seinfeld snippet until the 3 minutes is up.
I play those remotes like a finely tuned instrument.

In the 1970s, environmental alarmists were in a frenzy about global cooling. We were told in the 1990s that we only had 10 years left to save the planet. The "experts" were wrong then. Why should we listen to the same people now? Check out these quotes about global cooling:

however howmany times have you seen comercials for condoms on those same stations?
besides much music in canada and MTV in the US i don't think any stations have condom commercal...moreal of the story..... sex is great as long as it's not safe.

good point frosty. i hate car dealer commercials where they hit the cars and yell and crap. who wants a dented up car that was in the commercial?
can we please not turn this one into something political. some people seems to only show up once in awhile and turn things into political arguments. there are rules against political conversations for a reason guys. thanks for your cooperation. -

WELL GUYZ, the one that drives me CRAZY is the car ad where the guy'z diving down the tree'd winding road (singing) and then a squirell drops in thru the OPEN sun roof ,and starts singin harmony then two bluejays(?) appear singing back up , THEN a wolf drops in and SWALLOWS one of the birds, WHY? then the wolf burps them back up and they go rollin on down the road singing . WHAT did it add to have the wolf EAT the birds ? NOTHING ? the one i MISS (cept at xmas) is the one with FROSTY on the REMINGTON electric (rechargeble) razor gliding up n over the snow coverd hills with i THINK, BURL IVE'S singin . WHAT I'd LIKE to see , is someone photoshop snoopy'z "redbaron" dive bombing over iraq or blowing up alkaidea's to the song , ya know ,a "updated"version i wonder if "mama goose" does video also ?

But I have to comment on your distinctive auto licenses; they're "way cool," as my Hollywood daughter might say. How hard and how expensive is it to get such plates in your respective states? I live in Bergen County, NJ, where everything, including vanity plates, I expect, costs more. Hope you and all the brotherhood had a good Thanksgiving and are able to enjoy Christmas after the frantic rush to put it all together in the next two weeks. Professor Melon

Mine, in the great state of Taxes... er, um, ah, I mean Illinois are about $50 more than standard plates the first year and then I believe there is a small fee above the normal registration upon renewal.
On the topic at hand, while every can agree that there are many commercials that drive you crazy, there are also many commercials that are cool and/or funny... Who can remember the good ol' days of the Budweiser Frogs or Waaassssssuuuuuppppp comercials. One of my personal favorites now is the Miller Lite More Taste League. -
