Reasons Men Should Not Get A Hair Transplant
« on: November 05, 2007, 02:40:18 PM »
The other day I started thinking of reasons whey guys shouldn't get a hair transplant.  Here are 7 that I came up with.  Can you come with any more?

1. Unless you have lost 100% of your hair, the rest of your hair is going to continue to fall out after getting a transplant.

2. When more of your hair falls out, you will have to get more hair transplants to cover it up.

3. Because of #1 and #2 it's much more expensive than the price they quote you because they won't know how many follow up surgeries you will need.

4. It's surgery, therefore it's going to be painful.

5. Because it's surgery, you will have scars on your scalp. This means if you want to shave your head later, you'll have to show the world that you previously had a hair transplant.

6. Everyone will know that you have plugs.

7. Chicks don't think plugs are attractive.

How about having a head like a pin cushion afterwards

or how about a nice big scar?

Itsonlyinmyhead--
I hope that isn't a picture of you.  That head, without the "side sweeps", reminds me of mine just three plus weeks ago.  But when that guy wakes up and smells the coffee, he's got to worry about a scar and the shaving problems it will cause or cost to get it worked on by a plastic surgeon.
To bad he never found this place, money lost and scar gained.  Poor B_st_rd.

Yeah, that's what I'm talking about as a MAJOR reason to not get a transplant.

hey guys quick question, we all know how horrible hair transplants look but what if there was a way to reverse hairloss without the scar, would you go for it?

I think it would depend on what was involved.  I don't think there will ever be a quick, easy, painless, and inexpensive method.  But if there were, I would consider it.

I honestly would go for it was well but like you said KC, there probably will never be a quick and easy way.

I know I've responded to this type of question before, but if there were no medical side effects, I would definitely do it.  However, since I know how much I like sly now, probably more than half the year, I would still be sly.  The remainder I would probably have a short buzz or something similar because I like short hair for the neatness and ease of care.
How is that Hopey / Changey thing working for you?

Crazy to know that people will go into all that trouble just to have hair

Too much risk and expense for too little of a reward IMO.
Life has three aspects: Paradox, Humor, and Change.

Paradox: Life is a mystery; don't waste time figuring it out.
Humor: Keep a sense of humor, especially about yourself. It is a strength beyond all measure
Change: Know that nothing stays the same.

Then there will also be a sure-fire cure for AIDS, herpes and every form of cancer.....

as well as regular vacations to the moon for the general public.....

and the world will be an altogether cooler place... O0

Right on, Rob, there are much more important things to be concerned with in life.
Hair loss is really trivial if you look at it in that aspect. It's sad when you think of these things we hone in and hold onto.
Much smaller in the grand scheme of things, IMO.

You ever look at a guy with hair plugs and when he sees you in all your sly bald glory you see that "deer in the headlights" look of fear? Maybe its because I have that smirk on my face (like my avatar) and am looking at their doll hair.

reason #539,834 not to get plugs.  Sly guys with assume your a major douche.
