It worked for me I spent about 3 years wearing only UtiliKilts (and two tartan kilts for special occasions). Bald, bearded, tattooed, kilted! That was "my look" for a good long while. People around me got used to it, then it started to become a sort of costume. I was "kilt guy", my email address was "kiltedvash" (no joke). I decided I didn't want to wear costumes, I wanted to wear clothes. I didn't want to be known as "kilt guy" for the rest of my life, so when I met my (now) wife, and decided to get engaged, part of the money for the ring was raised by selling off 5 different UtiliKilts and my two tartan kilts. I still have and sometimes wear my first UtiliKilt.
I consulted TartanRaven who told me that wearing knickers is part of the outfit. Thus I think you could wear them if you so desire. I am looking at Utilikilts. They seem easier to wear on a day to day basis.
How can i put it it a wedding, the girls and ladies are keen o investigate a man in a kilt , the last scottish wedding the groom suggested that those wearing a kilt should wear jock straps .
