My favorites:
Belhaven Ale
Newcastle Brown Ale
Corona
Chimay

Scrumpy Jack was kinda, well, gross in my opinion. I prefer Strongbow or Magners. If I remember correctly, though, Scrumpy Jack is considerably cheaper, which isn't bad on a budget.

Well, there's Spider Bite Pale Ale, but it's very local (Long Island, NY), and you have to buy a "growler" before you can get it filled to take away at those places that dispense it fresh.  It's fine, but if you drink alone, you have a lot of ale to get through before it goes flat.  Not a real problem...

Ah alright. Couldn't remember. Been a couple years since I was in England. They don't sell Scrumpy Jack that I have seen anywhere here, but I know where I can get my Magners and Strongbow. :)

A couple of my all time favorites:

Bell's Porter
Paulaner Oktoberfest-Marzen

I'm on a lifelong quest to find the perfect beer.
As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be sly.

Have you had a St Bernardus Apt 12?  Or a Tripel Karmelite?

Those two are pretty close to perfection for me.

Tyler, thanks for the recommendations.  Headings are set for Friar Tuck's this weekend to pick them up.

I love them all,and i often use beer! (i only use water for my lawn but i suspect that our Croatian water is genetically modified ;why-because our garden moles are about a  size of doberman now  :-\ )  FDA has issued the warning here to avoid water at any cost because of they recent studies they show that fish have sex in the water (i would add frogs too ,it is just unfortunate  :o   )so bee aware!

Beer is nice, but only one -- to open the path for a Scotch on the rocks...

Everything but water will do,in fact I use to wash my hair with a beer (while drinking beer -that's our Croatian thing you wouldn't understand  ;D )and then I had an ephifany I discovered snaps then wine then Votka THERE WAS NO LIMIT for me, there was a world of choices opened up just for me so i smartly decided to leave the law school (because too much work distracted me from drinking  :*)))....

Spent some time in Germany many years ago. There's more great beer every where you go. Every town has a brewery that produces delicious brews and the national brands are great too. Time for a road trip while the Euro is low.

That's not a bad idea... if I went to Europe, it would definitely be a 'drink my way around the continent' tour
