Well, if you are going to drink beer, why not choose one that has a nice taste?  Bud...whatever is cheap beer and probably only good for getting drunk.  Not much taste.  Not my idea of fun.

There are other brands out there with robust flavors ... they cost more, but they have nice taste to savor.

Is that the 12% alcohol stuff that comes in like a wine bottle with a cork?

I LOVE THAT STUFF!!!  :@`

Pretty close, they were like 9% and 10% alcohol stuff that comes in like a wine bottle with a cork.  Now they are gone...

My brother introduced me to Kentucky Bourbon barrel Ale made by a company called Alltech after he toured the Kentucky bourbon trail.  It's an ale aged in bourbon barrels and we think tastes pretty darn good!  It's kind of expensive though.  $15 for a 4 pack if I remember correctly.

I have many favourites!

Czech beers: Staropramen, Krusovice (hmmmm... the dark and the ligth versions are both fantastic!), Pilsener Urquell  :@`

German beers: Dreher, Wernesgrüner, Gösser

Norwegian beers: Ringnes Platinum, Lysholmer Double Ice  :@` ... but practically any beers sold in supermarkets taste fine and they are trustworthy, even the cheaper ones (like Dahls, Kompilz and Pokal) are not bad at all.
But I would like to warn all of you who are planning to visit Norway: you should be very-very careful with the beers sold in pubs and bars! I have no idea what they put into it, but it DID happen to me many times that I had a horrible hangover, even if I did not drink more than the healthy amount.) In addition, bars and pubs are damn expensive.

I'll never forget the fantastic beer I drank in Germany when I was there. It all was delicious!

I kinda skimmed the pages of this thread so I don't know if anyone covered this one. But if you have a taste for a decent tasting beer that won't break the bank try BOXER! I'm gonna make a disclaimer here and say that flavor-wise it just won't stack up against some of the really fine brews that have been reviewed here but at about $11.00 (US) for a case of 36 cans and at 5% alcohol by content it is a trip back in time to $1.00 premium gas in a Super Bee. This stuff will get you to the place you wanna be in a hurry and you can buy a bag of Doritos to go with it. It's made by the Huber Brewing Company so there is some knowledge of suds involved.
It is implied, by my post, that I may be less than discerning in my choice of beer. I can live with that.

I usually prefer microbreweries instaid of big name breweries. Up here we have "Alchimiste" and "Boréale" (not Bore ale...) What is amazing is that the Alchimiste brewery is as large as a bungalow and the price for a 12 pack is about 2$ more than regular beers. Cheers!

This reminds me of some strange fruitbeers imported from Belgium. I tried the plum-flavoured one, also gave a try to the sour cherry and the pear taste, but somehow they tasted too synthetic for me.

The raspberry beer had a lot of carbonation, too. In Germany you can get a, "Weiser" (I think) it's beer mixed with a fruit syrup and it is sweet and refreshing. Ever had one?

No, never tried that. I am usually sceptic about sweet things, they can be more dangerous than they seem to be. (My experiences say that a sweety-tasted dark beer makes you drunk sooner than a bitter light one.)
