So, balding at nineteen.  I can only say, "There are worse fates."  I know, I know--you look around and see all those manes amongst your cohort and feel betrayed.  There is NOTHING to be done about what your head is going to do.  Potions, lotions, prayer, implants, rugs (No, No!)...forget about it!

What is WRONG with being bald?  It's as masculine as anything one can point to. 

Embrace it!  Ming is BBC.  He likes the look.  Think about that.  Ming has to take his hair off, and does it without a qualm.

also I wanted to add. based on my experiences. that you aren't going to miss out on things becuase you a bald/balding... you miss out on things becuase you are thinking /worrying about it... just let go, and accept it. and then live your life. you'll be a much happier person.

I think today or tomorrow i may just take the plunge and buzz it short. If it doesnt look good i'll shave it. i'll post a pic if i actually go through with it

Before I shaved my head, I was a hermit.  Afraid to go in public because I knew that people would be staring at me.  Now that I shave it, I have gotten my social life back.  I don't mind anymore if they stare.  They all seem to like it and I become the center of attention.  Enough for me.

Good decision.  Taking the plunge can be a bit scary but it's worth it for the peace of mind and confidence that come afterwards.

buzzed it with a 3 guard. looks good so far, i wanted to do no guard then shave but my brother refused to do it for me, him and my dad insisted my balding isnt that bad but i think its blatantly obvious how much its thinning on the top

i think it looks pretty good so far. Im just happy i can wear my hats again without all that long hair getting in the way =)

Looks good!  That is about where I was at 19.  Then the crown started going and trying to meet up with the forks in the front.    My traditional buzz cut that I carried over from the military was a 1 on the lower sides and back tapered to a 2 with a 4 on top.  Now it is so much easier. 

What you might consider is letting them get used to this and then taking it all the way.  It will grow back at about a quarter inch per month, so it is nothing permanent.  Just long enough to try it out and see if you like it.  You have enough that you have a few years to play around with it.

I actually wanted to completely shave it but my parents and brother insisted it looks fine this way. If my hair loss gets any worse im definitely gonna shave it though, love the way it feels not having all that hair on me

I always liked the velcro feel.  It was just a bitch getting t-shirts off.  They would stick on the back of my head.

Yeah I saw that, Im not really nervous about it anymore, I actually wanted to shave my head but I had no support from my family. I think im going to have to ease them into that.
