I was down to my last blade, so I had to run out and pick some up today. I ran into a local Costco. They had a Fusion power Phantom with 4 blades and the battery for under $12 so I went ahead and got it. I had been thinking about trying it for awhile. Have heard nothing but good reports.
Question for all of you long-time users, is there really a difference between the power blades and the regular. They look identical except the power ones are quite a bit more. I'm set for awhile, but if I stay with the Fusion, I'm tempted to go with the cheaper blades when these run out.

Well as I've posted before for me it's a mach3.. but for a week now I'm using extrem3.. since again I got a bad blade in my package of mach3.. I noticed immediately that it would irratate my head shaving with it.. so I had some extrem3 in my shaving drawer that I got last summer.. decided to go with it.. well I think I'm going to keep using them..
this is the second time I get a bad blade with mach3.. last time it caused me to wait almost a week before I could shave cause I used it to shave my head all over.. the same day I had bumps, and red marks.. NEVER happend before..

I've been using the Mach III razor and bought some headlube at my local Rite Aid. Would like to try the Headblade Sport.

I've read in some of the posts that a number of you get up to 2 weeks per blade. How normal is that? I have used Gillette Good News Plus for years, but I only get 2 good shaves (head and face) from one razor since going SLY. It really wears out the lubrication strip and the blades. If I go longer it nicks me.

I use the Headblade with generic Atra blades (Personna from Wal-Mart). I've never really paid much attention to how long, but I would say I get at least 2 weeks between changes, probably more. If I can judge by your avatar, I believe I have more hair to shave than you (i.e. you are more 'bald' than me). Whether my experience is normal, I don't know. But I feel fortunate to get by so cheaply.

I'm in the same boat as herronm; after 2 shaves, the lubrication strip is usually shot. A third try on the same blades = major problems with irritation!

The lubrication strip on the Mach III blades usually only lasts 2 or 3 shaves, but I continue to use the blades after that anyway and it doesn't seem to make any difference. I rarely nick myself and when I do it's usually because I'm rushing and being careless, not because of the condition of the strip.

The strip on my HeadBlade is one of the things that I use to tell me when it is time to change blades. Sure it might not make that much a difference without it, but the little bit to aid my scalp is nice. Expecially with the sides of my head [easily irritated].

Kinni, welcome to Sly Bald Guys!
I use the HeadBlade when I shave. I used to use an electric when I started this site, but I've since switched to using a blade.
You can view my shave routine and the routine of others here:
http://www.slybaldguys.com/smf/index.php?topic=923.msg12936#msg12936To get the look with no "shadow" has a lot to do with how dark and thick your hair is. If you have really dark and thick hair, it's going to be tough for you to get your dome with little shadow.

First, welcome Kinni to the forum. Glad you are with us. Follow those links Tyler gave you and you should get all your questions answered. If not, post up and we will be glad to help out.
Second, for those guys who have been contemplating the Fusion, I was just in WalMart where they had the Fusion razor on a big sale of $6.95. For those guys who have been wanting to try one, this is a good price break.

I think one of the big benefits of the Headblade, is that you end up using a different razor for your face..... I think the hair on your scalp chews up the blades faster than your beard... I might be wrong, but that has been my observation.

You can't use Mach 3 blades, but you can use Atra and Sensor blades.
