A friend of mine has a cable service where commercials for this show are getting aired and he keeps telling me about it and encouraging me to go on or do some of those contests.  I'll admit it would be pretty cool to see something like this, I'm sure I wouldn't win against professional (?) contestants, but considering how big my goatee has become the idea of seeing what an actual hard-core professional (again, ?) beard grower would grow seems very interesting.

I watched the episode where they went to the championships after reading this post.
I say why not, it's a show first and foremost and the guys enjoy themselves.

The politics, bitching about clubs and guys like that Jack-dude seem sh*tty but you'll have that in most competitions and if you can overlook that stuff the rest is good.
I enjoyed watching the episode and might check out a couple of the new ones too!

I watched the championship episode form the website too, I'm super excited for the series, I'll have to download to view it in Australia though... like all the good shows... but it'll be worth it!

Uh... literally?  I've seen pictures where professional beard competitors do really weird things to their beards and I'm picturing you with beard dreadlocks covered with those little round metal bells.
