I decided since it was summer to trim up the beard, and try out the tailback style.
Nice blending job on the sides!

Very happy with my beard thickness / length these days but very tempted to shave it down to a van dyke for the summer and wax my handlebar moustache a bit more. Depends how warm the English summer gets 😀😀

Don't get the logic? Beards keep you cooler in summer, know fact. Protect your face from sun (ok, UK, occasional break in the clouds). Shaving makes your skin more sensitive, and then you perspire on said scraped skin.

You make some convincing arguments for not shaving it down. I always find the logic of beards keeping you cooler hard to digest but it is true of course.

As a portly gentleman who is a professional brewer in florida where it's always hot I have a ton of first hand experience with this and I can confidently say you are at the perfect middle ground. Longer and it will feel like your face is wearing a wet wool coat, any shorter (or shaved) and you'll face irritation. Right now you will have sweat pulled away without your face feeling heavy or covered.

Thanks Tobler, figured it was the time to change it up a bit and give it a shot.

I fell out of love with my beard a few weeks ago but remembered last time I shaved it I regretted. Although the little voices in my head kept telling me to get rid, I kept it and now I'm glad I did as I'm back on side liking it again

Glad you thought about it first, BeardBald.
It would be a shame to lose that beard again.
