Looks good, imaginary.
I got mine trimmed today, but the barber took off a little more than I really wanted him to:

I have a recurring dream where I'm trimming my beard and accidentally end up cutting it all off before I realize what is happening. I hate that dream; it's always a relief to wake up and find out it isn't real.
First of all, thank you. I'm trying to keep this style longer than a month this time around.
Regarding your comment, I live in an "urban" environment. Pencil mustaches and very carved out beards are the norm among Hispanics. I've had the recurring dream where I had that look. Much like you, major relief when I wake up, and touch my face.
I think these dreams come from the mind trying to adapt to the fact that the body doesn't match up with the way it thinks it ought to be. I had LASIK in 2003 and for a couple years following that I would have dreams where my vision returned to the way it was before the surgery. I think the brain takes a while to truly accept new norms like that.
I just noticed this reply today. And your thought does make a lot of sense.

Razor X,
Are you considering moving on from a goatee to a full beard. That could be a good look.

I'm working on it. That last picture shows seven days' growth. The plan is to live with the full beard for a while and then assess.

How much time lapsed between this photo and your avatar pic?

Sounds like a good idea. I hardly need advice you on the patience required to grow a full beard.
Cannot grow a full beard, myself. There just not enough facial hair on the sides. Which is why I've got the 'chopless' beard.

It's been a long time since I tried, but from what I can remember, the sides usually fill in a little more around 10 days or so -- at least to the point where it doesn't look as scruffy. After that it's just a matter of waiting for it to grow out the same length as the goatee and mustache.

I think it is a couple of weeks, it might be the way it is brushed that makes it look bigger? Still growing for now...

Thanks npsbg, the beard is the sole focus now I know the head will be smooth each day.
