Looks great, Nate!!
Hey guys, I started a new job today. I had to fly out to Colorado for training, and was deciding if I should shave my beard back down to a goatee for going to the home office. I decided not to shave it... and I am so glad. I never felt out of place today. The last time I shave it down to a goatee, I didn't feel like myself. I can't go back right now. I made sure it was neatly trimmed. Just like there are a lot more guys going Sly these days, there are also a lot of beards out there... and more of the combo too.

Congrats on the new job, Mike! More importantly, you were able to land the job while staying true to yourself (keeping the beard)

Mike, congratulations on the new job. Your beard suits you well; I can't see any employer having an issue unless they have a strict "no facial hair" policy.
Nate, your beard is coming in nicely. Patience will be and has been rewarded. I also get the urge to trim and have never made it beyond the point where I am now.

Looking good, everyone! Keep up the great work!
Sorry to hear about the unemployment, slymyke. You'll bounce back in no time (as will your excellent beard), brother!
As for myself, here is an updated picture (my avatar picture was taken back in early April). As you can see, I'm going full force again. The last time I tried growing it out, I kept getting the urge to trim after a few months. The urge went well past the 48 hour rule, so I did. I now firmly believe that the ongoing need to trim was because I kept trying to put a cap/goal on growing it. In other words, I was putting a limit on it (of sorts) without even realizing it. I think that was my downfall: I was expecting it to get to, or be, in a certain place, and became dissatisfied with it constantly.
This time, I'm just going with it, and I'm finding it's much easier to let it grow this way. Not worrying about where it will be when I get to a certain date.. Not worrying about the coverage, or even how it looks. It's honestly nice. It seems to be growing much faster when I don't pay attention to it (a watched pot never boils!). I'm getting more and more compliments as time goes. So, you can probably gather that I have no end date, or goal this time. I'm just going to let it keep growing, and not pay too much attention to it. Woo hoo!!
Nate, great beard! Keep it growing! As for myself, I will have a "yeard" on the 22nd. Truly, I believe that the shaved head and beard combo is a great combo where the beard accentuates the bald head and the bald head accentuates the beard!

Thanks guys for the congratulations for my job. I was getting worried for a while that it would take too long to get another one (I've had that happen before).

You've got to hang onto it at least until Christmas, Marsh.

I probably am going to do at least that! To tell you the truth, I kind of would like to just let it grow until it stops. Kind of like a bald ZZ Top or a bald Santa! But we will see if I continue after Christmas.

Great beard there, Natedawg. Big droopy moustache and plenty hanging off the chin. Sounds like you are past the point of no return: just keeping going.Been growing mine for nearly 3 months now. Apparently it's an "Edwardian".

Thanks Slymyke. The tint on the specs vary according to the length of the beard. Now wouldn't that be great ?
