Nice one, Don. He's 33.
Actuallly, I'm 53 (maybe that was a typo; RazorX ?))

I suspect Razor was just being SLY in the sense that Tyler advocates!

Anyway, John, basically whichever look you decide to go with (& there's no law which says you have to decide on one look & stick with it ) all look fine. You look good totally shaved but I thought you looked ok with the goatee or even with just the 'tash & actually you seem to be one of the few lucky guys who looks great with a full beard too (of which - I'm jealous

) ... so basically ... just have fun with it
The one definite BIG improvement though ... was going
SLY to begin with ... but then you know that already!

John, just to clarify, without knowing how old you are, that shaved you look about 40ish. With hair and the facial hair, you looked more mid 50's. With hair you look like the Dad, without you look like the son. Very big difference, for the better.

No, I was just joking around with John.

I tried to resize these photos to make the faces the same size.
The pictures were taken about a year (and 25 lbs) apart.

Here is one of me taken on the 19th of August this year at my little cousins wedding. As you can see my thinning had progressed rapidly and hiding the baldness was not an option anymore. Since then my cousin has also gone SLY and he has a very very thick full head of hair.

Shak,
Have to say that you didn't look that bad.
Why did you get rid of your beard? I think you looked better with it (the beard, not the hair). It gave your face more symmetry and balance.
You can still sport a beard with the SLY look, just keep it neat and trim.

I just don't like the cut off point on the beard when you have the SLY look. Also it is very high maintenance due to having very dark growth. The shaping around the cheeks is very time consuming.

Hey guys I'm brand new to the sly and so far I'm liking it. I'm only 18 though and have no hair loss but I was tired of having hair and styling it haha. I took a look at the forums and made up my mind the same night. Love the look too. I'll be going airforce here soon and plan to be sly the whole way in but my dad has said that if I go in sly they will give me crap about it trying to say I'm trying to be special because I'm supposed to get my hair shaven off when I go into basic but seriously I did it for the look and I was curious.

Hey Malachi, welcome to Sly Bald Guys! I don't think they'll give you too bad of time for shaving your head, other than just using it as a reason to give you a bad time. I wasn't in the military, but I'm sure some of the other guys can comment and let you know what to expect.

Hey Malachi and welcome. You may get some grief on your current look, but only because the Air Force is not known for wearing their hair as short as the other services. There are quite a few guys going into the military today with buzz cuts and shorter so it has become a more common thing than years ago.
