It's actually not a bad idea, man. Going sly with your friend...you may not fully understand what he's going through, but it shows empathy and a lot of brotherly love. For me PERSONALLY, if a close friend of mine was talking about it with me and I was on the fence, just the thought of him being willing to do it too would spur me on. I wouldn't accept him doing it on my behalf...but once your friend goes bald, don't be surprised if he starts talking to you about how cool it is.
My friends joke constantly about my head...how I am always talking about the freedom I feel...I share comments from ladies...the wicked glare I get on my head! I just can't shut up about my head or stop showing it off. lol
One friend of mine has been bald since around '99. He was confused about my excitement...he seemed to think I had been shaving for a long time. I told him I had just passed my first month, and it all made sense. He remembered his excitement and joy over going bald, too. And we shared some stories and bonded closer over BEING BALD of all things.
So yeah, JUST about everyone here is a success story in one way or another. But I think you should go bald yourself...show your friend that it's not something to dread.
Tell him that you'll shave your head if he shaves his -- and then both of you have to agree to stay shaved for at least a month. When the month is up, he probably won't want to go back to having hair. You might not, either.
Funny idea, never thought of that. I’m already working on the details ...
I may not be brave enough to go from full head of hair to sly. On the other hand, I always say it wouldn’t bother me if I went bald so maybe it’s time to try and also to show my balding bud I mean it.
I will think about it.
Mike
It's the best way to show him that it isn't really a big deal -- and he won't feel like he's going through it alone. It's only hair; it grows back. Remember that you can get that full head of hair back anytime you want. Your friend can't.
That’s right. I can always get it back. That’s why I agree with you. For the plan to work, I should go bald for at least a month or so. So we’re both bald and stuck in the same boat. Would be interesting. I mean, so far I only THINK head hair is overrated. Not yet talking from experience.

Good to hear you and your friend bonded over being bald. I read many posts here. Looks like there is a great brotherhood between bald men. I’m surprised it doesn’t seem to make a difference if you’re MPB or BBC.
As I said, my bud really suffers from his hair loss and if all it takes to make him feel better is shave my head, I’d do it in an instant. I just never thought of it. But before I found this board, I didn’t realize how many men (again, both MPB and full head of hair guys) shave their head because they like it and because they enjoy the company of other sly domes. Guess that’s another point in favor of shaving.
As you can tell, my mind is pretty much made up ...
