Hi everyone,

I am Marco from Taiwan, 49 years old.

I have loved the bald look for a long time. In the past, I only shaved my head during holidays. I was worried about what people thought, so I always wore a hat outside.

This year, I made a big decision: I want to keep my bald head all the time, everywhere.

In my country, not many people shave their heads. Because of our culture, it is not very common and some people might find it strange. But I decided to follow my heart and stop wearing hats. Now, I face the world with my bald head every day. It feels great!

My hair is very thick and dense. It takes a long time to shave it all off. Because of this, I have spent a lot of money on different shaving tools. I am still testing them to find the most efficient way to get that perfect smooth feel (BBS) every day.

I?m very happy to join this group. Nice to meet you all!

Hi Marco and welcome  :)

I like your post - congrats on your decision and going for what you want. I admire that.

Also a BBC guy myself, and also mainly a holiday shaver in the past but working on changing that.

Great pics, looks like you're doing a very good job!

Hello Marco
Your smooth head looks great! It would be a criminal act to hide that under a hat!  I don?t think that you should worry with other people think because in reality they probably don?t care that much about you and we probably think that they think more than they think!  To all the people who see you now that is how you normally look, right? So just wear it was pride because you look really, really good.

I had a great good fortune to be able to visit your country about 40 years ago and stay in the old imperial hotel. It was a memory that still vivid in my mind such a beautiful place.!

Hi Marco

Welcome to the club and you look great shaved bald, especially with your nice beard. Hope you will keep it!

When I read your story, I thought I was reading my own because there are some many things in common. I like sharp short haircuts on guys but I like the bald look the most. I have wanted to shave my head bald for a long time, even though I have a full head of hair. I used to look forward to being on vacation so that I could experience a straight razor head shave at a traditional barbershop but would always grow it out afterwards.

My family background is Hong Kong Cantonese, and I can understand the pressure and the "unusualness" of wanting to be bald by choice. I think there has been a big change, especially in China where there was a trend for guys to try the shaved bald look.  It is now quite common for balding Chinese guys to shave their heads. I think it is quite common for balding Filipino guys to embrace the bald look as well.

I have been bald by choice and shaving my head daily for over 5 years. I already updated all my IDs with the bald look. Sometimes I have the urge to change my look by growing it out. It takes only two to three days of hair growth for me to return to the bald look. I think I am fully committed to it.

It takes some time to discover the best shaving method for yourself. I use the Andis ProFoil Shaver and it is fast and easy. It now saves me time and money to shave my head instead of having hair and going to a barber for haircuts. Some guys use an electric shaver first before shaving their head with a razor to speed up the process. I heard Headblade is a good choice.

Enjoy and keep us updated of your journey.
