If out in sun for long a cap yes, winter is very cold here so I wear a toque (knit cap). I like hats and collect many. I also wear sunscreen if not in a hat (swimming at the lake).
Cargoguy, as soon as I seen the word toque i new you were a fellow canuck!

I can only wear winter hats in the morning after a shave, otherwise when I take it off, it feels like scraping wool on sandpaper. I usually wear a flat cap and I wanna start wearing trilby hats, but I'm not confident enough to pull it off.

I usually wear a hat in winter (although knitted hats tend to slide right off after a shave).
In summer, I wear a ball cap because I am one of those skin types that just burn/peel, burn/peel, etc.
I've hit my head a few times here and there... it always HURTS and leaves a mark. I don't like the idea of dings on my dome. (One particularly nasty head scrape left a scar that lasted for years). So now, I always wear protection outdoors!

I was in upstate NY this past week, and for a Southern boy that is Professional Grade cold. My beanie was great, except in the morning on the way to the meetings, freshly shaved it kept sliding up. In the evening, a little stubble held it firm.

My first choice always is to just show off my bald dome with no covering. But I wear a beanie in the winter when its friggin cold out which pretty often in Boston.
I also wear a ball cap when I'm outdoors for more than 30 minutes at a time. Like to wear the cap when I'm driving, too, esp if I'm driving into the sun.
Also, I have one of those Australian jobbies that you can pack any way you want and it looks good as new when you take it out. Makes me look like Indiana Jones.

I hate hats. I'm currently looking for something to clip on my pool lounge chair to keep the sun off my head... sometimes sunscreen alone doesn't do it... but a hat isn't the solution I'm after - it takes away from my bald coolness.

I agree Lex, I can't stand hats myself. I will only wear one when I know I will be spending an extended period of time in the sun.
I like having my dome out there. Don't hide it, shine it!

For awhile i was very insecure about my head, i would use wahls to get a close shave and always wore a cover, after getting a huge boost of confidence from this site i shaved my head and stopped wearing my hat, I'm not sure how to say it but i feel free now... I am confident in myself. I owe alot credit to you guys. I am proud of who and how i am now. Good bye hats! (except for beanies in the winter)!
much sly love!

Yeah: protection is one thing, and not burning the noggin, but I HATE hats too, and would rather let it shine.

Not a fan of caps, I look pretty strange in them. But beanies are another story, I wear them in the winter to protect the dome, but it usually comes off once I'm inside somewhere.

I used to always wear a beanie or a ball cap from dawn to dusk... inside and out... but since I have shaved, I am less self conscious about my hairloss and more confident about myself. I almost never wear headgear now. However, I do live in North Dakota, and I do throw on a beanie when it gets cold...
I just love to see my dome SHINE!!!

I used to wear caps a lot when I had hair. Still new to the bald thing, and haven't worn one yet. I did go through all my baseball caps, and none of them look right on me anymore.
