I was at Costco looking at the Mach 3 & pro glide packs.
24 Mach 3 carts is $49.99
14 Pro glide carts are $48.99
For those prices I can get 700 blades depending on the brand.
That's highway robbery! What's worse is that I used to pay into that nonsense. Thanks bros for showing me a better way to shave.

EXACTLY!!!!!!! That is why I love the traditional way of shaving. As most of you know, I have a strong passion for this type of shaving. Gents... if you only knew. I so highly encourage the traditional way.

Hi Gents: If anyone is interested in the traditional way of shaving... kindly PM me or post up a question in the SAFETY RAZOR SECTION of the forum. Ahhhhhhhh.... this way of shaving is so much relaxing, challenging, and most of all FUN!!!

You guys sold me! I've been shaving with a safety razor for about six weeks and am loving it! For a bit of time, I wasn't sure if I was going back to my Mach 3 for my head, but I have finally mastered shaving my dome.

Being a bit of a heretic here, but... read no further if you are easily dismayed. So:
I am finding that disposable razors ("Hiss! Hiss!") are "good enough" for shaving the dome. Somewhere it's been said, "Don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good."
And I use cheap shaving cream, too (Barbasol).
I've never used a cartridge razor, but that cost does seem extortionate. There ARE cheaper modes, clearly. Ming's exchequer has more more significant things to disburse for than a quest for the ideal razor. Wine, for example.
Hey! It's just hair on the head. "Good enough" is good enough. For Ming. YMMV.

I just switched to a
Harry's razor. Quality products at lower prices than Gillette or Schick.
Last time I used a Safety Razor or a DE was when I was a teenager using my Dad's razors to learn how to shave. No thanks. I prefer 3 blades or more because of the comfort and the lower odds of shredding my face or head.

I just checked out Harry's website. How is their stuff? Are the razor/blades good quality? Fill us in man! I'm thinking of changing over because it's getting harder to find my beloved M5 anywhere.

Hi Buddha: You can always check Ebay for the M5 blades.

It's funny, the different opinions people have. I would have thought that by using a razor with 3 blades or more you're increasing the chances of "shredding" your head or face!
