NJ Transit is beginning an orderly shutdown of the mass transit system. The New York MTA, subway, and Long Island Railroad are doing the same. The main concerns now are winds and tides/storm surge.

I'm in the previously mentioned "south central Pennsylvania" and I live on a mountain across from a ski resort. I'd say the chances of some heavy snow is good. My job called about 2 hours ago and said to work at home the next two days.
We're as ready as we can be and are hoping for the best.

My 15yo son and his basketball team are stuck in Neptune, NJ. They went out last week for a basketball tournament and because of the storm they can't get back to Las Vegas. Hope all will be safe.

I'm sure he'll be safe. New Jersey officials are taking a lot of precautions at this point.

Thanx for your prayers and thoughts, my Sly brethren. We caught a lot of wind with downed trees and wires. Despite being without power for four days, we're okay. As you heard, some areas caught it worst. To my bros affected by Sandy, stay safe, strong, and Sly.

I got lucky. Just food damage of $150 and no heat for 5 days. Heat is back on. On the SOuth side of town, the average damage on LI is $100,000 per house + a lost car.
The damage is unreal.
