Heart and Soul was a big hit in America in (I think) 1987, yet in the UK, China In Your Hand was a far bigger hit. I liked all of their albums. Carol Decker (the lead singer) has been desperately trying to ressurrect her career for the last couple of years, but failed miserably unfortunately.
As for Level 42... World Machine was like a bible for me.
However my biggest bible was Songs from the Big Chair. That record had such an impact in my (misguided) youth in so many ways, I cant even describe it. That record was my first encounter with Tears for Fears. It was only after I'd discovered it that I discovered The Hurting, which was an even more depressing album. But their other albums (The Seeds of Love, Elemental, Raoul and the Kings of Spain, Everyone Loves a Happy Ending) were highly underrated IMO.
One of my biggest thrills in life: one day, I was flying from New York to London. I was in first class (lucky upgrade), and I was sitting in the same row as Roland Orzabal, the lead singer of TFF.
One of my biggest disappointments in life: I didnt have the guts to tell him what his music had meant to me.
Im such a freakoid.
I have 2996 songs in iTunes
That's all?
Listen, we cant all be Donny & Marie fans you know.
Do you guys remember a song called Mary's Prayer, by a group from Scotland called Danny Wilson?
They were a one-hit wonder globally, but that song is probably the greatest one-hit wonder ever recorded (or so I think)

If we're talkin' 80's one-hit wonders from Scotland, then Big Country (In A Big Country) tops my list.

For 80's one-hit wonders in general...my fav is probably Animotion (Obsession)
Oh wait - how about Down Under, by Men at Work (Australia)?

Donny & Marie were from the 70s. Thought your 2991 tunes were from the 80s.
I'd like to bet D&M had at least one hit in the 80s
Right now I'm listening to Wham!
