DST? Pure foolishness. Studies have shown that when DST is in effect there are actually NO energy savings; actually a slight increase in electrical use (mostly because the A/C is on longer, I think).
DST creates NO extra daylight; you just fiddle with the clocks.
The farmers? They're self-employed. They can get up when they want to or go to bed when they want to. There's nothing about DST that is of any rational use for them. Let them set their clocks to whatever they want. They could make sunrise come at noon, and sunset at midnight if they wanted to. Of course, they'd probably miss the "evening news" on TV, since it'd come at their lunchtime, but, Hey! anything for "more daylight."
The rest of us? Slaves to the clock. And, until DST was dumped today, last week it was still the moment of sunrise when I arrived at my office. I do NOT need that.
I say AMEN!! The Merciless one has spoken.
You're right magoo, we don't change here. No need to since we get plenty of sunlight and really don't need any more, especially in the Summer months.
I believe Hawaii doesn't change their clocks either.
I agree - -alot less work when you have alot of clocks - -and what a "pain in the ass" it is changing clocks - -We have about 20 of them
and then there are the ones in the cars - - -I have two clocks in my new Cadillac and one I cannot change
We don't change our clocks where I live.
His profile says CANADA . . . Duh . . .
I love DST, I like jogging after work while the sun is still up instead of having people jump back every block when someone comes out of the darkness.
