The shine occurs naturally for me.  But there are times I like to use HeadLube Glossy!  I love the shine!

Ok, I'll be the odd one out.  I like it matt.  Because where I live its quite (ok, actually VERY) warm, so irronically, I usually have a shine.  So, I don't know if this is the right thread to ask, but how do I get a more matted look?
If I should wake up tomorrow morning, and all my hair grew back; I'd still shave it all off!!  Thank God I'm Bald!!

Although I like shine--I too live in a very hot climate, and humid,--but I find that Curel lotion moisturizer that I rub on the scalp before going to the gym in the morning tones down the shine somewhat, as does Gold Bond.  My purpose is to make sure I keep the scalp in good condition.  Then I shave after working out, and I'm after shine then.  You could try those, but in the heat and humidity, I don't know anything that will prevent a great shine from developing by the end of the day.  Short of "powder" I'm not sure if anything works in the tropical and sub-tropical climates unless you're naturally matte.

Love it smooth and shiny!  O:O

I use HeadLube Glossy with a few drops of Shave Secret added for good measure.

For several years, I had been buzzing my full head of hair.  Gradually going from a #3 guard to a #1.  A few months back, I found a Wahl trimmer with a #1/2 guard which buzzed me down to 1/16".  It surprised me that my head actually shines when using the #1/2 guard.  Guys at work have mentioned that my head shines now.  I like the look of a shiny head.  When I get up enough nerve, I will go all the way and shave it clean.

My wife initially complained about my #2 and #1 buzzcuts.   She must be getting used to the short hair, because she has not complained for a long time.  When she first noticed the 1/16" buzz, she said, "Your hair is so short now, you might as well shave your head".

Exactly.  So what are you waiting for?  I don't know how anyone can go that short and resist the urge to take it all off.  It will only take 3 or 4 days to grow back to a 1/16".  Most people won't even notice the difference, but you will love the way it feels.

Well, when it comes to hair, it's always your personal choice, but your wife is giving you excellent advice, what's  your reason for not shaving this morning? :/O

I would suggest listening to the misses...  Just shave it.  AND trust me, that first shave is amazing.  The slight resistance from your hair to the raizor...  For me it just felt GoooooooD  ^-^  Go for it!!

Not only that, but it's much easier to shave your head every day than it is to try and maintain a 1/16" buzz.  You'd have to buzz your hair every other day to keep it at that length.  I went through a phase when I decided to buzz instead of shave; I didn't even last a week, because the clippers are just a pain to use, there's more mess to clean up, etc.  Just take it down to the skin.

Thanks for the advice and encouragement.  Now that I think about it, the wife did leave the door open for me to shave it off.  At work, another head shaver (many shaved heads there) said the same thing to me, "Your hair is so short, why don't you go all the way?"

One thing holds me back.  I am not sure what type of razor to use.  I'm afraid it would be a bloody mess because I bleed easily when I shave my face.  For that reason, I have a full beard.

Use a good quality razor like a Fusion (the razor of choice for most around here) and some good quality shaving gel.  If you prep properly -- get your scalp good and wet beforehand and take your time, you shouldn't nick or cut yourself.  The skin on the scalp is more taut than your face, so it's actually easier to shave than you think.
