Trucks and SUVs
« on: February 12, 2007, 06:28:53 PM »
I know many of us drive either a truck or an SUV, so what are you driving?  If you don't have one, which one would you want?

I currently drive a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder SE.  I have to say that I'm quite impressed with it for everyday use, but I haven't had the opportunity to really test it in the dirt.

1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4WD - 4WD is used mostly for dirt roads and icy weather.

Man - that really bites.  I love mine.  There have been a few minor issues but I love it.  I have had to replace a transmission but its going strong at 230K miles

The sly guys drive jeeps!!!  I have a 1993 Grand Cherokee, 4wd just kicks ass when it snows.  I used to have a 2wd Ranger that I had to put chains on just to get around town, in 3 or more inches of snow.  The transmission leaks, need to have that fixed, but otherwise runs great for 130 thousand miles. F350 Dually King Ranch, usually towing my jeep on weekends, when it's not in the garage.

2000 Izuzu Rodeo with 42,000 miles or so on it.    I've put that SUV through too much crap to count unfortunately but I like it.     There is a nasty dent(door is partially caved in on back passenger side) but the door still opens fine and i'm not one who really cares how the car looks as long as it gets me from point A to point B.

I drive a 2005 Jeep Liberty, which replaced my 1996 Jeep Cherokee.   And the 4WD was a big help during the blizzard here in Da Windy City today.

Chevy S-10 FWD in cold or bad weather.  Harley in good weather.

I've got the old reliable Mater! 1985 Ford F-150 Regular Cab 4WD. 300 ci straight 6 and a 4 speed manual with granny low 1st. Considering the rear differential is completely open, it does pretty well in the snow and such. For an old beater farm truck it has turned out to be pretty nice.

Another Jeep here...01 Wrangler 4.0

With the 31's its been unstopable in the Michigan snow. I think I will be trading it in this summer though, for a Toyota FJ cruiser. I will have a 55 mile drive to work and Wranglers just dont have highway manners. I will be testing the new Wrangler 4 door also...I have heard its much nicer on road and just as good off.
