All this talk about using St Ives scrub on your face is a little scary. Everything I have been told by many dermatologists (one of the best dermatologists in the world is a good friend of mine) is that using a strong facial scrub more than once a week is very bad for your face. Also...some scrubs have ground up nut shells and seeds as well as other very sharp stuff in them. The skin on your face isn't the same as the skin on your elbows. You need to rub this stuff on your face lightly or it could make small cuts in your skin and eventually lead to long term problems.
Also, after you use any facial scrub, you need to wash your hands really well and apply some sort of moisturizer and SPF to your freshly scraped and raw facial skin.
Us sly guys have LOTS more "face" than most people. Let's all try to make it look good for a long LONG time!
After reading your post I believe that I will go back to just using St. Ive's less. I only shave every other day and that's when I use the St. Ives. will just go back to using the Noxema on my face since I've used it since 1986 with good results.

I had to add my routine here:
Hot shower
Exfoliate every second day. (After what XAbbyDaddy has said, I will probably exfoliate less from now on.)
Wash face and head (and body) with a glycerine soap bar.
Dry my body, leaving my head and face wet.
Run a sink full of hot water but not scalding hot.
Apply “Nuage” shaving oil to head and face.
Whip up a nice lather of shaving soap with Tweezerman shaving brush.
Apply thoroughly to head and face. Leave the brush one side with remaining foam to use again.
Shave my head against the grain using my beloved HeadBlade Sport (with cheap, but effective Schick Ultra Plus blades.)
Ally more shaving soap; feel for the left out bits and re shave if necessary.
Shave my face with the grain using a Double Edge safety razor and Gillette Minora blade.
Re apply more shaving soap to face.
Shave a second pass against the grain.
Rinse my head and face with ice cold water from the tap.
Pat dry with a towel.
Apply Nivea post shave gel to face and head.
If there are any nicks or cuts I will first splash on Old Spice aftershave
I suppose there are many ways to kill a cat.

Now that I am at about day 60, I have refined what I think works best in my routine. Hot water in shower and use HeadShed followed by Head Scrub to get my head ready. Then lather on HeadSlick. I only now shave against the grain starting with top and sides thent the back. I take as many passes as necessary to get totally smoooth as I am BBC and the stubble can be tough. I find that the very warm water and use of the HeadBlade products sets me up for what I think is a smoother shave than I used to get. I finish off with a cold rinse and pat dry. I either apply Head Lube Glossy or Head Lube with SPF if out in sun. Love the process and look big time.

I am trying to refine my routine because I am still getting some bumps and such.
So any help/comments would be greatly appreciated.
1. Shower, put on St. Ives exfoliating scrub and leave it in while washing. I shave ever other day usually.
2. Wash it off, and apply Bald Guyz or Headlube shaving gel depending on my mood and length of stubble.
3. Headblade on top and back, Sensor/Quattro on sides for maneuvering.
4. Wash off with some cold water.
5. After shower apply some Witch Hazel, and a few minutes later some Aloe Vera
I want to look spotless, no bumps.
Sidenote: how do guys like Ray Allen, Michael Wilbon and Taye Diggs do it?! It looks like they have never had hair in their life.
Is there a rich guy hair removal miracle?

Hi there Adam Black. I see it is post number one, welcome to this tremendous site.
To be perfectly honest, I can offer no solution to the bump issue, but there are some experienced gentlemen on the forum who will certainly deliver some sound advice...
I would try burning the bumps off with a bit of good old aftershave...
If that doesn’t work, try the next step...
If that doesn’t work, “Drink a Savanna, its dry, but you can drink it...” LOL
By the way, your profile pic does you justice, “Bald is definitely for you!”

Just a picture of a character in a television show called Community.
We have similarities, but I wish I knew his routine!
I will head over to the introduction page now.
Thanks

Simple routine for me.
1. Brush teeth
2. Wash face
3. Workout
4. Shave head with Mach 3 and Gillette Gel
5. Dab head dry with towel
6. Apply witch hazel
7. Shower
8. Lotion up (head with lotion with vitamin E and aloe vera)
@Adam: Ray, Taye and Wilbon all have shadows. TV does a good job of disguising it but I've been around Ray and Taye and you see it up close.

True. 99 times out of a 100, if a sly guy doesn't have some form of a shadow he either: a. had a darn good laser treatment or b. he has alopecia (I have a sly friend who has alopecia and can't grow hair anywhere on his body)

@Xabbydaddy, I use the exfoliator much less now since reading that opinion. I don't want to get too carried away and sandpaper my skin to oblivion. I guess its all about finding your balance, an exfoliation twice a week is sufficient for me.

Hi all !
New to the world of Bald-dom! Lost some and shaving the rest. I have to tell you, 'I love it'! I love the look, and all my friends and family (including my wife) like it as well.
Well since I am new to this, I really have not found a so to speak routine yet! Right now I am using both an electric (philips norelco triple-header) and the Mach 3 straight razor. I first use Williams Lectric (pre) Shave and go for it with my electric razor. Since the electric razor doesnt get that close but good enough, I then finish it off with the Mach 3. Afterwards I have been using Gillette's After Shave Gel for Sensitive Skin.
Again, since I am new to this - I will be experimenting and try to get this all down into a routine.
Looking forward to reading all the blogs, comments and advice from everyone.
