Hey Paulie, make sure you ease back into it. If it's been a long time since you've done any gym work, the last thing you should do is start out with an intense workout and end up sore as can be the next day.

I disagree on method here. My favorite thing to do when I've been out of the loop for awhile is hit it hard (as long as I don't drop the bar or use improper form). I will be very sore the next few days, to me it's just my body's way of saying thanks for a job well done, and a reminder to keep at it.
After that first week the pain subsides, and you are in the zone Paulie!
Different strokes for different folks. I guess I side with most trainers that say you should ease back into an exercise routine to avoid injury and discouragement/soreness after a long layoff.
Maybe Schro is right. I pulled something in my heel running too hard this weekend!

Sorry to hear that. The key is taking it easy right now so you don't further aggrevate the injury.
