Actually, the only name that I can think of that would not be a compliment is Uncle Fester.  All the other completely bald icons -- Lex Luthor, Yul, Telly, Mr. Clean -- look really good.

Ha!  My wife and I drove out to visit my folks this past summer.  My mom hadn't seen my shaved bald head yet, and called me Uncle Fester.  I am a bit overweight, and it's been killer to get it off, but I just laughed at her.

To DJ Bald - I think I would be tempted to say "I think I look more like Charles Xavier (aka Professor X), but thanks for the compliment."

Your niece's husband needs to get his eyes checked.  Did you point out that among other things, a key difference between you and Roker is that he is black and you are not?

Al Roker ? You know a few years ago I would have said thats insulting but since Al is now sly and trimmed down a bit I think he looks pretty good.
Looking back on this now...I definitely dont think it was a compliment even though Lex Luther looks pretty cool. I think the guy who said it to me was just trying to get a rise out of me and it didn't work because I think I look good sly . Having said that, he is rocking the George Costanza look himself so he really shouldnt talk.
I do firmly believe though that some people will ALWAYS think someone being bald is odd or weird...no matter how good they look. Its a society thing...slowly but surely it will be more mainstream...we are going to see to it right ?

I do firmly believe though that some people will ALWAYS think someone being bald is odd or weird...no matter how good they look. Its a society thing...slowly but surely it will be more mainstream...we are going to see to it right ?   

There will always be people who don't like the look, just like there are people who don't like facial hair or long hair on men.  Can't please everybody.
