Ever shave anywhere else and why?
« on: January 04, 2009, 12:19:14 PM »
And no, I dont mean down there!

I have a mate who shaves his legs because he is a competitive cyclist and he says it helps with his aerodynamics when cycling (???). Another m8 shaves his chest. Not for any reason other than he is the vainest guy I know.

Whats your story guys?

Yeah, I shave my arms because it makes my tattoos look better. I shave my chest/stomach because I hate hair there... um... I shaved my legs once to see how it felt (it was pretty nice at first, then the hair started to grow back, that's horrible!) and I shave my underarms because I sweat a lot and somehow that helps so the sweat is not transferred to my shirt. lol.

No.
Our country demands all our strength, all our energies. To resist the powerful combination now forming against us will require every man at his place. If victorious we will have everything to hope for in the future. If defeated, nothing will be left for us to live for.

I cut the hair on my armpit hair with scissors.  I'm one of those people who believes
shaving causes thicker & darker hairs to appear.
The back of my neck below the hairline didn't have much hair but I remember as a child,
my father would cut my hair and he would use a razor on that area (back of neck below hairline).
the hairs have become thicker and darker.  Thank God we have electrolysis out there because otherwise
I would be in trouble.  The hairs would not be that dark and thick without shaving.
Ever noticed some guys have thick hairs on their neck?  I'm not talking about the area right under your chin
but you know there's a certain level below which there shouldn't be dark hairs.    That has to come from shaving.

The shaving = dark hairs are wives tales my friend.

I respect your opinion but my experience says otherwise.  So-called experts tell us that shaving doesn't cause dark hairs to grow but they don't have any proof (just like I don't have proof but I have experience).
If there's hair anywhere on your body that you haven't shaved before, give it a try.  Shave it for 6 months or so and then you will see what I mean.  No hard feelings bro.  cheers. O0

If shaving caused dark hairs to grow, we'd all have full heads of thick dark hair.   ;)

lol you got me there.  ;D   Well, remember hair loss from the head comes from excess DHT.  So there is
no way to stop hair from falling without getting rid of the excess DHT.  If shaving could reduce DHT you would
be able to grow your hair back.    The head is a unique exception.  To see if shaving causes dark hairs to grow you
would need to shave an area that doesn't suffer from problems that are happening inside one's body, head, etc.
Shaving is not that powerful to reverse male pattern baldness (which is caused by interior problems).    But come on Razorx, you telling me your armpit hairs have not grown into thicker ones since you started shaving?   I could be wrong you know.

No, they haven't.  Shaving is no different from cutting hair; it just cuts it much shorter.  It doesn't have an impact on growth.  When it first starts growing back, it may seem thicker because it's stubbly, but once it gets past that stage, it's exactly the same as it was in texture and thickness before the shave.
