SHAVE IT!
Actually you will be surprised how much of a difference it does make in your appearance. Check my transformation pic in the gallery to get an idea. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain... kinda no brainer eh

I think you look fine with the short buzz. Realize though that if you buzz it that short normally, if you shaved it on a Friday night, by Monday you'll have some decent stubble and by the following Friday it'll be as long as it is right after your normal buzz down.
I know it's scary taking a razor to it for the first time but there really isn't anything to lose. Most of us here have experienced that same level of razor anxiety but right after we use the blade, this huge weight is lifted off our shoulders. You see it in the mirror, you can feel it. It's very nice my friend.
Again, I like the short buzz. It looks athletic and sharp on you. I routinely do a no-guard clip down on mine instead of shaving but will most likely shave it down daily once Spring hits. It's nice having the option when I thought there weren't any options and the whole shaving routine is quite enjoyable.
Conclusion: Continue to wonder how you'll look and feel shaved to the bone or take out the razor, shave the noggin and if you don't like it you're right back where you started in a week.

Oops. I missed your update. Hey man, looks great on you, very clean look. Condition the hell out of it if you're itchy but I imagine that will pass if it hasn't already.
Congrats man! Welcome to the fraternity!
