Head depilation? :S
« on: November 02, 2008, 07:32:47 AM »
Hi everyone

I'm a new guy, just registered on the forums, but i visit the site and read your posts regularly.

Since this is my first post, i might as well introduce myself. I'm Alen, 21 years old and i come from Bosnia... (that in Europe ^^ so u'll have to excuse my bad english). Started loosing my hair since age of 18, started shaving my head 1 year ago. I guess that's all that i should say at this point.

So i started this topic cuz i recently got this crazy idea... instead of shaving my head every 2 - 3 days, why not just wax it and be happy for next month. The result is also much better then the one u get with shaving.... but the downside is that u have to go trough HELL and bear excruciating pain while being depilated (sry, cant spell this word -.-).

So i wanted to ask, have anyone tryed this and what do you guys think about it? I also watched this video where guy gets waxed, so i'll leave a link for you to see:

Hey man... Am the same age as u are O0
well I once tried the Braun silk epilator on just a lil part of my head...
u kno wat??? It fell down from my hand and I jumped up the pain was as if as gunna die! For real...
even try to wax a lil part of my head... And I almost called an ambulance even had a red rash there..

All I can say is shaving is a pleasure provided u do it the right way..
DNt even think about anything else!!!!

Yeah I've always been suspect of depliation creams and the like.  So long as u develop a good simple technique, shaving is still the way to go and can be enjoyable. Or if not at least easier to do.

That looked painful!  :'(

Thanks but I'll stick to the razor. O0

I'm not too much on the up and up about any of these products.  Just what I've heard and saw before.  I let my wife wax a section of my back once.  There is no way in hell I'll get that stuff near my dome.  As far as the creams are concerned...I've heard horror stories from other members here that are enough to keep me away from them.  Razor shaving is just fine for me.

This subject rears it's ugly head again!     >:(

All I can say is no thanks to either one. You can check other threads on the forum for opinions on this exact subject.

I said it before and I'll say it again; I enjoy my shave and I actually look forward to it.

If your not getting it smooth enough from shaving, then your probably not doing it right.
Get a quality razor (MachIII, HeadBlade or Fusion), a fresh blade and read up on some of the shaving tips in the appropriate section. It's really simple.
