To anyone against this procedure you don't seem to get it do you? Shaving your head does not mean you are no longer balding. You are still a balding man, and everyone can see that. Bald =/= balding and that's my opinion. Right now I'm a norwood 2 with diffuse thinning in a 3a pattern. After taking propecia for a year and getting no results and sides I decided to quit and look into other options. Laser hair removal is the only way to fight baldness, not shaving, not pathetic transplants and especially not smp (though after getting your scalp lasered, doing smp may actually make much more sense). Everytime I see that norwood 5/6/7 curtain shadow on a balding man I cringe and would rather die than sport that.
I'm only 23 and plan on fighting baldness head on. To anyone who is my age and is thinking about shaving do it to test out your new look, not as a permanently solution, because it couldn't be further from the truth. I can clearly see my receding hairline even though I'm always shaved. I can see that I'm diffuse thinning from the higher ratio of white gaps in my frontal region compared to my crown and sides (confirmed by letting it grow out).
I just want to be a bald man, and not a balding man. I don't want to wake up every morning, look in the mirror and constantly see that I'm balding. Imagine waking up every morning and seeing an extra wrinkle on your face everyday. It happens way too fast balding to be able to emotionally confront it like aging.
And that my friends, is why laser is a viable option, and anyone who is conscience of the way they look (mostly attractive people) will see that.
Btw I'm looking to get this done once my crown starts thinning and to everyone shaving their heads after this procedure, that's just silly. Buy an epilator, it won't be that painful due to the remaining hair being very thin, and eventually all the hairs will get damaged and stop growing.
Another thing I do not like this site, period. But I came across this thread when searching for people with laser hair removal experience on the head. It seems many people in this thread actually want to take some serious steps in overcoming baldness, and aren't in denial about the way they look.
One last thing, if you wanna go for the more matt look (which is waaaay better imho), try this:
