Years ago in church the minister mentioned in his sermon that they did a study on people who had hair resoration liposuction and other cosmetic surgeries. It turns out they feel great for about two weeks. Then it's back to the same old depression and feeling rotten that drove them to the action in the first place. The reason of course was that only the packaging had changed. The person inside was still the same and still had self-esteem and confidence issues.
Very true, calbito. The grass is will always be greener for some people.
Bosley's apparently based on the Law by P.T. Barum, "There's a sucker born every minute!" Sly doesn't make dollars for a doctor, just a lot of sense for the balding

!
Lol..my brother actually did hair implants some years ago...love the guy but man it still looks like sod gone bad to me. Glad I went SLY!
I worked at the campus computer store when I was going to college, and I remember one day this guy came in, bald as a cue ball on top, but still had some hair around the sides. What made him so memorable was that he'd used that spray-on stuff over the entire top of his head. At the time, I didn't even know such a product existed. Like I said, this wasn't to darken his scalp behind his remaining hair. He had NO hair at all over the top, so he might as well have used a sharpie for all the good it did him. At least then he wouldn't have had to do it as often. lol
Looking back, I feel bad for the guy. He'd have been way better off with just the horseshoe or even a bad wig. Of course as we all know... sly is best, but this was well before that style was around so much. Hopefully, he eventually accepted the situation and ditched that silly spray stuff, at least.
I recall an episode of Hearts Afire (early 90's sit-com) where an MPB Billy Bob Thornton comes on set with his head painted using that stuff. I fell off my chair laughing.
I found out the hard way...I wore one of those things for 2 years, then I woke up! It was an expensive lesson, but now when I see those commercials, I just laugh, cause one thing I learned was how to spot a fake a mile away!
Thx for the replies as I hate those commericials. What did those people get paid for their endorsements??
The whole thing is sick. They are preying upon the insecurities of people to make a buck. The photos they show are probably only the best cases. They don't mention that hairplugs will cause you to have to come back again and again and have a surgery every few years to maintain the look.
I agree that those dudes should just go sly.
When I started wearing hair around 1980 unfortunately that was when hair was in. Shaving was not that common amongst so called normal people. Thank goodness it has changed it has made it easier to ditch the hair. At some point you get tired of the expense and upkeep not to mention all the other the things you can't enjoy because of it ( like swimming.) This site has helped me and will help others, as alot of you say, find freedom. How true.
i too laugh when i see those, or a bad rug out in the real world. (always could spot one a mile away)
and i always make sure to give a knowing wink to the poor sap that thinks nobody is the wiser.
i look at that stuff as a way to seperate us from "them"
hopefully they will someday see the light and go sly
