Favorite Vacation Spots
« on: September 15, 2008, 05:42:15 AM »
Now that the summer is almost over   :(   I was wondering where everyone went or where their favorite places to vacation are?

My wife likes Maui and we have flown there 2 times in the last 5 years, but it's such a long trip from the east coast, like 12 -13 hours 1 way. In the winters we like to get away to sunny Florida for a week or so.

So, how about you? Where do you guys like to get away?

Everyone is always looking for new places ,so how about some ideas from the bro's out there !!

Ubatuba, Brazil. No where near as crowded as Rio, and nowhere near as dangerous.

Hands down it has to be Myrtle Beach for the best golf and southern style nightlife on the east coast. And with the high cost of everything nowadays, it's only a brief drive from my home.

Acapulco... is it safe to drink the water there Tom?
Bermuda... I'm superstitious and the Bermuda triangle concerns me.

In the winter, Val Thorens

In the summer it doesn't matter as long as:
Beer and food is included
There is a beach for my wife to lie on and bask
There is a water park for my boys to get an adrenaline kick
The sea is warm enough for snorkelling for me and elder son
The sand is good enough for sand castles

Next summer we're going back to Portinax on the north of Ibiza

Man, that's an easy question to answer.....I just walk 3 min. to the North Umpqua river, and cast the old fly line in the water and relax.
I was told to think outside the box, how did I get in the box in the first place?

For a winter getaway from Chicago in February/March:  Aruba and/or Curacao

Just after the European holiday season (early September) Santorini & Mykonos

Guess my favourite is West USA, expecially Arizona, Utah, Colorado, Nevada National Parks! also like California.
But if you wish advice for places out of the USA:
- Italy  ;)
- the Greek Islands
- Turkey and expecially Istanbul: beautiful town, historycal background second only to
Roma in my opinion... does worth a visit, and is cheap too.

Places I would like to visit: Hawaii and Alaska, India, Japan...
