Lately I have had the urge to move. We were in MT not too long ago at the house there and I wanted to stay. When we go to Great Falls it has the same feeling. I have been looking at property in both MT and ND, as well as Texas. I have never been to TX but there is land with thousands of acres for around the million dollar mark. I figure we can sell off most of the cattle and just keep the new bull and maybe 4 cows, sell most of the cross bred goats and keep the winning lines, maybe take a new buck from my aunts place. I would have to cut way back on the birds, just keep the best of the best chickens and domestic ducks. As far as the pheasants and exotic waterfowl I would like to take all of the ones I have as well as buy birds from local breeders so I wouldnt have to worry about getting new lines for a while. Of course we would take the horses and other pets like the dogs, cockatoo, cats, and cavies. We have 300 continuous acres and we bought another 145 acres down the road for hay which was great because of the price of land.
We had someone come by this morning asking how much we wanted for it. The wife and I had never thought about listing it as we just moved here a few months back. The guy told us to think about it, he said that this chunk of land is worth over 1 million for just the land. Overall we could probably get way more than that. We have several barns, creeks, great hay land, awesome location (15 miles from the outskirts of the big city) 2 houses, the other place is rented out but would be sold with the property. We could sell all of the tractors and equipment for alot and maybe even divide the other hay property into 5,10,20 acre lots to make more.
The neighbor just sold their place on just under 100 acres with a 2 bed 1 bath home, a hay shed, tractor barn, and critter barn for close to 1,000,000.
The more I look at places the more I am getting the itch to move.
Just thought I'd let everyone know, its so dang tempting.
