My first Headblade experience

I finally bought a HB last Wednesday and finally used it yesterday. After reading all the "I cut the crap outta myself" post I was kinda scared to used it. I decided to use the shave secret oil and my favorite Baldguyz shave gel. I don't know what all the fuss is about about how hard this is to use. I found it quite easy. Of course i don't have any major ridges on my melon even in the back so I got a cut free shave. It is easy to use as far as ergonomics, like the video shows just rub your hand over your head. I cut against the grain all over. On the sides i just gripped it different so i could shave up from my ears to get it smoothe. Now, all that said, I was not that impressed with the shave. I usually use a schick extreme disposable (I have tried the fusion and wasn't impressed, esp. with the cost of blades). It wasn't any better than the disposable and I had to use the disposable to get around my ears. I guess I don't really get why people think it's so great, it was just OK. Just my 2 cents.

The hard part about the headblade is getting around the ears. After you get used to it though it is just as easy to go around the eats as with regular razor, and I think the rest of the head is easier.

I get a closer shave much quicker with the HB. Though, it did take a while to learn to get around the ears.

Update. So I used the schick disposable on Friday and got my usual close shave. Yesterday I used the HB again but this time used the sample of HB shave cream that came with the HB. I liked the menthol feeling and got a really close shave the second time i used the HB. I do really like the Baldguyz shave gel but the HB cream worked really well too. I got around my ears just fine this time with the HB too. It really is easy to use always putting the correct angle on the blade and I do feel less drag using it. I guess i'll keep using it. What blades do the regulars prefer with the HB. I didn't buy any replacement blades yet but will need to if i'm going to keep using it. I think it has a HB triple blade on it now. Do you use the HB blades (double or triple) or the sensor blades? Thanks

One thing to remember, as the HeadBlade 101 video points out, you can reverse the blade and use the HeadBlade as a standard razor. Makes getting around the ears and stray spots way easier, and your HeadBlade can pretty much be your only razor.
Also, for frugality, I hunted down the best price on replacement blades. I get Atra clones at my local Dollar General store for 6/$1. That ends up cheaper than disposables for a way better shave. The HeadBlade itself really is no more expensive than a standard Gillette or Schick starter set. The blades are what kills you. So I can afford to change blades more frequently if needed to stay super sly.

The Headblade is money, I have been using from day 1 and it is the only one I have used. No nicks or cuts and have never had a problem going around the ears, just fold the ear back and cut. The Headblade Slick is awesome, stays slick the entire time just wet your hand and run back over your dome and presto super slick comes back to life.

I'm with Hookem (kinda)
I've been afraid to use it. I read about it and think I'm finally going to do it, then I don't. My head is kinda funny. It's round in the front, but kind of square on the back. Does that makes sense? lol
I usually scrape the back "corners" with any razor. I don't know. Maybe I need to take a couple of pics and post them up so ya'll can see what I'm talking about.

I was a bit worried about using it after reading the knuckleheads on amazon bash it but even for a noob like myself I didn't cut myself once. I've used it now a dozen times or so and it just seems like second nature to me now.
The first time I shaved my head I used my Fusion that I use on my face and while the Fusion blades felt better to me on my scalp, the HeadBlade is so much easier and quicker to use once I got the motion down, which really only took a couple shaves.
For me the HB is the power house that gets the dome 99% of the way done, then while shaving my face with my Fusion, I hit up any spots that need some finesse.

I just used my HB again and while it's ok I still had to "touch up" with a regular razor. At this point i'm wondering if I have to use 2 different razors to get the job "done" why not just start and finish with the one that gets me the closest to start with (and is cheaper

). The HB is novel and easy to use it just doesn't get ALL the stubble so i'm going to use the one that does!

I just recently started using the Headblade Sport (Friday to be exact) after my electric Remington just died on me. Overall it was quite easy and much quicker than using an electric razor, except for nicking a 2-3 mm growth/mole/whatever on the back of my head near the base of my skull. I don't blame the Headblade though, any razor would've done the same thing. Now I need to make an appt. with my dermatologist to get that thing removed or else my HB can do it for me, LOL.
