You would have more luck with the Lay-days if you hung it off your privates.

Right... Dog.. answer me seriously.. are you honestly thinking of buying a set of these?
if so ....why?

Do you associate with people that wear these things? As far as I know, 'gangsta' rappers and Kelis
are the only people that I've ever seen that wear grillz,  is that the scene that you are
into?

Yes, we should be a little more open-minded on this forum,
after all, we're more than accepting of people that choose to pierce their bodies, or cover
themselves in tattoo's.

IF (and I'm more than a little skeptical) you seriously are thinking of getting some of these,
then I choose the ones with the red stones in, although I like the bottom design best (get that
if it comes in red)

Those are sweet Medic, but not as sweet as the top grill Dog20 originally posted. Man, that thing is AWESOME.
I hope he gets that one and wears it proudly while walking down the street to his next job interview.

Yes, because I like how they look.  Some people buy new clothes, because they want to look better.  Some people get tattoos because they look cool.  Whats the big deal about me buying a grill?

Do you associate with people that wear these things? As far as I know, 'gangsta' rappers and Kelis

Yes, I am an up in coming rapper.  I've been working on a few songs.

I agree... I was watching a talk show and it showed a lot of "odd couples."  One guest was a guy known as "the lizard man (his face is tattooed green and he has tongue split down the middle)," and he was married to a beautiful woman who didn't have any visible tattoos on her.  She said that she fell in love with the person and she found him to be unique.  When Tyra asked her what she thought about Brad Pitt, she said he looked boring and could use some tattoos.  The point is, she was able to look past "lizard man's" outside appearance... and I hope you guys can too.

Thanks a lot, I like that one too.

Dog i'd go with the middle one.  I also think it'd take a little more confidence to rock one than the haters may possess.  Like magmababe pointed out, this forum is pretty open to piercings and tatoos.  The only difference i see between the three is that tatoos and piercings have been around a lot longer and gradually gained more acceptance in the mainstream by sheer visibility and the steadfastness of their wearers to go against common conceptions of beauty and fashion when attacked or slurred.  Oh and grills don't leave permanent markings all over your body should you wish to not sport that look later, unlike the former 2.  (Don't quote me on that, as i think i read an article a dentist wrote about cats screwing up their teeth pretty bad by wearing other peoples fittings)

An analogy could be an MPBer or BBCer rocking the sly look during the height of big hair in decades past.  Then again, an analogy could be polyester pants and disco in the 70s.  Only time will tell if grills become accepted by the mainstream or if they fall into the annals of fashion faux pas past.  But again, that shouldn't matter too terribly much.  I'm sure the fun had expressing yourself at studio 54 made more than up for your grand kids teasing you incessantly in old age.

On a personal note, aren't these things prohibitively expensive?  I mean, i think i'd have to be rolling in it before i started dropping a couple hundred or thousand on jewelery, but that's just me.

I need to do more research on them but according to the site, the metal won't damage your teeth.  Also, they have you do a molding of your teeth, so you can get a custom fit.  As for price goes, it varies.  The ones I posted were all under $100 I believe.  But some can end up costing a few grand.  I can easily take them off too if I must.

What kind of rap scene are you getting into?  As far as i was aware, the majority of those that sport grills do so for the status symbol effect.  Like a new bimmer or lexus, except portable on your face.  Would you be called out for buying a "cheap" grill?  Perhaps the materialistic aspect isn't important to you and you just dig the look.  Then more power to you.  Do you live near any jewelry shops that specialize in the process so you can go tour the look and see the pieces up close.  Honestly i've only ever known one guy to wear a grill and it looked a lot different than in a video where the lighting is real bright and the cameras are right up in your face.  He was in my weightlifting class and a hilarious dude, this was during Katrina and we had a huge influx of NOLA residents.  While it added to his personality, i think it more complemented his outgoing behavior and eccentricity that was already present.

I have no idea what shops sell grills.  I would imagine its not sold in regular jewelry shops.  I'm not into a particular "rap scene,"  I just make rhymes about whatever is on my mind.   I could be rapping about love one day and then depression the next, it all depends on how I feel.  I would like to try the grill before I buy it, so I will hit up the yellow pages.  But I'm not buying a grill because I rap... I just like how they look and I don't think of it anymore than that.  I don't care about what others will think of me, all I can is be myself and if people are gonna judge me because of my grill (or in many cases my bald head) then they can piss off.

Can't beat a Weber! I've had my Weber gas grill for nearly 5 years and I use it year round.
Tis better to have a bald head than no head at all.

I agree FR8!! I have an old Weber charcoal grill that I inherited with the house i bought six years ago. We take it camping all the time so i can smoke various cuts of meat in it. The only negative is that it gets heavy when I carry it around in my mouth.........
