And the Navy... and some jobs in the Chair Force...
One of the most overlooked branches of service is the Coast Guard. With the enemy bringing the fight to us, homeland security is becoming more important. When I was younger (in the days of the draft), I looked into the CG and the Navy. Went Navy, but it was a tough decision.
And, don't think that the CG misses out on all the action. We had Coast Guard detachments with us in Vietnam.
You aren't too young to talk to the recruiters. Just tell them that you are under age right now and just looking for information for the future. They will be glad to talk to you. They are active duty personnel, and most of them have great stories to tell.
The coast guard isn't a part of the DOD, they're DOT. They have the same benefits, and get hazard pay depending on where the go and what their job is. I'd say the coast guard would be and awesome job, but if you have any injuries to your ankles, knees, hips, that may not be the way to go for you..... I'm an Airforce vet, and my dad is retired green beret, my little brother was a sniper in the army and now he's a recruiter. my mom was also in the army and airforce. It's all about preference. I wouldn't choose the marines hust because you heard that they are the toughest. it all depends on the person going through it. I've heard people compair bootcamp to highschool football practice. So talk to the recruiters and figure out whats best for you. good luck brother!

Marines are trained to kill people and break things. And I'm glad they're out there.
HOORAH!
My grandfathers were both in the Navy.
The navy is the best cause they just get to relax on a boat. It's basically a free cruise.

I think BaldRob and some of the other sly guys who have served in the Navy will take issue with that statement. My best friend served two years in Bahrain after 9/11 would definitely have a thing or two to say about his "free cruise" as you put it.
It's funny the nonsense that people that have never been there come up with.
Heheh Dudes i think you're taking Dog a little too seriously.
Eh whatever, the navy provides the coolest looking suits IMO.
