I've seen Lion King, Stomp, Rent, Cabaret, Urine Town, and Tony and Tina's Wedding.  All of them were very awesome!
People are not limited by the circumstance that they are born in. They are limited by the size of their dreams. Show them that their dreams can have no limits and in turn their accomplishments can be limitless.

Les Miserables is just about the best stage musical I've ever seen.  Blood Brothers is another brilliant one, followed by Phantom and beauty and the Beast.  havent seen Lion King yet. 8)

I was not either Jdog, but my wife has been going to the theater since she was a little girl and basically said I was missing out on something huge.

You gotta go man, trust me on this one, its much better than I had imagined.

I would safely say Phantom is one of the best "starter" musical/play's out there....

somethin' to see!

I will keep an eye out.

I do have to retract my statement however.

For my work Xmas party last year , they took us to Star City casino in the city to see "Priscilla,Queen of the Desert".

Then you realized it wasn't a casino and there was no play.... It was just some house and there was a transvestite that lived there? :*))

Seen three great ones (Cats, Le Mes, Phantom of the Opera).  Phantom was great; it was at the Fox in Atlanta; the accompaniment was done on the Mighty Moeller Organ.

I've seen Phantom of the Opera, Chicago, Les Miserables and Rent. And some great Cirque du Soleil productions in Las Vegas (Beatles "Love" at the Mirage, "O" at Bellagio and "Le Reve" at Wynn). I think Les Miserables was my favorite. What's not to like? A little war, a little scandal, a love story and you have those beautiful songs and solos in your head days after you see it.
We once had free, last minute tickets to a traveling production of Cats. The show opens with some freaky cat-costume-clad actors coming down the aisle doing all their crazy cat moves. One of 'em stopped near me and my wife and did this paw-licking, self grooming thing. I couldn't stop laughing and mocking. We left at intermission. I'm sure it was great in the right venue, though. Obviously, because it had a really long run.

Have to agree with Rob, Les Mis is phenomenal, though my personal favorite is Miss Saigon.     I did get a big kick out of seeing Sweeney Todd on stage too.

Funny thing about Sweeny Todd, My wife's family had season tickets to the theater when she was real young (8 or 9) and along with Peter Pan and the music man, Sweeny Todd was one that she saw too.. she loved it but we were joking about how messed up that is for a little girl to see.

Needless to say when the Depp movie came out it was a must see.

Hamburg is the MUSICAL-City in Germany. Saw Cats, Phantom, Dirty dancing, Mamma mia (ABBA-Story and music), Billy Holly, Lion King - and with daughter in Berlin The Beauty and the Beast.

Our first, first favorite is Lion King - awesome costumes!!!!!!!!!!
