I may have to check out this Jimmy Buffett guy. In all honesty, I have never heard one of his songs. I hear that Kenny Chesney is heavily influenced by him and I am a big K.Chesney fan.

I will now probably be heaped with scorn from Schro and the Bald ParrotPartier Bald Rob.LOL

JDOG-

You ain't missin' anything. I've never understood the obsession with this guy. You seem like a guy with good musical tatses which SHOULD leave this guy off your radar. No offense meant to anyone that likes Buffett...... you can't help who you love....

Dont get me wrong, of course I know of the legend of Jimmy Buffet, but NO I have never heard his Margaritaville song. I might have to pick up his greatest hits CD.
Don't bother getting Buffett's Greatest Hits.
He only had 'one' greatest hit with 'Margaritaville'.

WTF?? Dude, you are so wrong.  :Xo!
Buffett's greatest hits extend far beyond Margaritaville.

JDog, if you want to check out a Buffett Greatest hits CD, may I suggest, Songs You Know By Heart which pulls together his strongest material and avoids unnecessary filler that appears on his albums.

His claim to fame, "Margaritaville," is the jewel in the crown, which harbors that tropical feel thanks to its Caribbean-styled rhythm and relaxed flow. "Come Monday" picks up where "Margaritaville" leaves off, sounding serious, and romantic. Most of the songs from Buffett are centered around his party-hearty lifestyle, like the comical "Cheeseburger in Paradise" or "Why Don't We Get Drunk," an ode to his party-filled outlook on life. "Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes," which again spotlights his love of living without concern, especially in someplace warm. The catchy and whimsical "Fins" is lifted by a contagious pace with a smart chorus and serves as one of the highlights of this collection. As a compilation, this bunch of Jimmy Buffett's most famous tunes contains just the right amount of tracks. Any less would be inconsistent and any more would be deemed as overkill.

Andrew, I heard Cut the Cake by Tower or Power this morning.  Just reminded me how much I liked them.

So, add Tower of Power to my list.  And I forgot Yes.  Huge Yes fan.

I agree on the Tower of Power thing. Great band that my parents got me into, I had "Back to Oakland" when I was a little kid. I was like 10 years old listening to Oakland Stroke.

They are from the Bay Area where I grew up so it was common for them to play around and I have seen them a few times.

My Mother in Law used to go to their practices back in the 70's.

Deffinitly a staple in my life... I never really think of them though.. I guess I take them for granted.

I completely forgot about them.  They are one awesome band and the lead singer can really sing his a$$ off.  I guess if I would have to pick a band I would go with them overall.

Good one Paulie.   O0
