Hey, Lance.  That's great to hear.  I'll still be praying you'll get the job that's right for you.

Got the update. You'll do it. The RN thing is hard work but worth it. You can do it just stay focused and take it one day at a time. Your plan sounds good.

rickybobby:  what do U men...u kinda "guys".  if U  R  implying that male RNs are gay that's idiotic and stereotypical.  1st of all... i'm not gay & if i was that statement that U just made was very insulting 2 any male RN (gay or not).  i usually don't let things bother me but i don't tolerate insulting comments like that from anyone.  so... i would appreciate it that U never make those insulting comments, again  because we don't tolerate that negativity here in the sly neighborhood.

First off I want to thank all of you for your support.  You too Rickybobby.  But I have to agree with my other sly bros that have stepped up and said what needed to be said about your comments.  Don't get us wrong brother, joking is welcomed here.  It's all good.  But you have to know where the line is and try not to cross it.  We have open arms here for anybody.  That means any race, ethnicity, sexual preference, etc...As far as you questioning my becoming a nurse and me being male whether you were joking or not it's something I've been thinking about for a long time.  It seems you may be comparing jobs with masculinity.  If that's the case then check my other posts on some threads where I talked about how I worked as a steel worker for just about 10 years.  Busted my a$$ in a steel shop pulling and lifting on steel all day for about 10-12 hours a day.  Ran machinery, welded, drove a forklift, etc...Beat the hell out of my body at a real early age.  I'm only 31 but my body makes me feel a lot older some days.  Everyday was a struggle getting up and going into that place because I knew it just wasn't what I was meant to do.  Don't get me wrong, I have total respect for people that have labor jobs.  But I have a huge heart and love helping people.  My son's situation was my final push out of that place and it was the best thing that ever happened to me because it gave me time to rethink my life.  Now that I've had plenty of time away from that line of work and been able to check into different jobs that I think would give me more reason I've finally decided what I want to do with myself to make me a more happier person.  I didn't mean to make this a long drawn out story but I just wanted to make a point that it doesn't matter who you are.  If you are living a life that doesn't suit you there is nothing wrong with making a change no matter how "out of the norm" it is or what others think of you.  But it's all good brother.  Don't let this discourage you from continuing to post up.  Just think a bit more and make sure what you're going to say won't be too offending.  Stick around brother.   O0

Lance, I applaud your reasons for pursuing this health career, but I am asking you stand back and take a closer look at your choice. I lost three close family members in the last year and a half. And refuse to go anywhere near a hospital or a doctor's office. Ok, I do go to my dentist. I am still traumatized by the horror's that I experienced.

You want to make a difference and help people, become an educator. There are programs where you can start out as a Para and pursue a degree, all expenses paid. Reading your posts, I've come to know you and believe this would be a better career move for you. You'd be one awesome teacher Lance.
