SLy Styling
« on: January 14, 2008, 09:14:21 PM »
After a couple of weeks wearing the suit and sly I have to admit that I look even more dashing and professional (if such a thing is possible   ;) ) In any event the professional environment is one thing but every day life is another which brings me to today;s question.

Do any of you folks have any preference for clothing styles for casual occasions? I seem to be currently obsessing about getting a wardrobe that matches my current look.  8)

Just have fun..lol
Now everyone 1-2-3-4 and 5  bend forward....1-2-3-4 and 5  rise and deep breath..hold it..hold it..hold it....exhale....1-2-3-4 and 5....lol

Ok Phil, would stay away from the Timmj "dress" (drag) code unless you want a good  :x!

For me I just wear jeans and usually a t-shirt of some sort--Nike or such. I have a few pair of Bullfrog jeans that fit good and look better that plain levi's. In my avatar I am dressed for the bar!
I wear dockers and collard shirts at work all week, will wear out on the weekend if I am going someplace where that tends to be the norm, but usually those places blow.....

Oh, I live in the south also, so no real need for sweatshirts or long sleeves really...

Since I visualized it and now for the life of me cannot sleep anymore, then everyone has to bloody see it...

Champ I must specify that I live in Montreal, one of the coldest places you'll ever see so sweaters and jackets are a must. Your choice of wardrobe might serve me well during the summer though  O0

Phil Man, I'd say find a style that you're comfortable wearing.  For me, it's a jeans, t-shirt, and flip flops look.  I know that's not the best look for Canada in the winter, but you should be able to find something that you like.  You could always find a chick that you're friends with and have her go shopping with you to help you pick out a new wardrobe.

Tyler that's probably the best advice for anyone, get the womenfolk to tell you what to wear!

Thanks!

I've done that several times prior to meeting my wife.  When I first moved back to the Bay Area and started making some good money, I realized I needed to do a wardrobe change.  Since I didn't know too many girls yet, one day I headed to the mall and found a cute girl at Macys that seemed to have some good style and was the type of girl that I'd want to impress.  I walked up to her and offered her $100 if she'd spend the day with me and help me pick out some new clothes on a day that she could spend 4 hours with me.  She agreed and I gave her my number so that she could call me if she couldn't make it and I scheduled to meet her in front of Macy's the next day at a specific time.  I never asked for her number because I didn't want her to think it was some ploy for a date.  It worked out well as she showed up the next day and helped me pick out some new clothes that ended up getting me a lot of positive comments.  She also saved me a bunch of money because she knew where to find the deals on the type of clothes that I liked versus me just buying them off the rack at Macys or some other big department store.  It was also good, because she would call me sometimes to let me know when Macys got some stuff that I might like and would give me her employee discount.

Wear clothes that make you feel good.

Some people just cant pull off certain clothes (regardless of price or label) and it shows.

that's a fantastic idea! i'll hafta keep something like that in mind when i get some dough and need to re-assess my wardrobe.

i haven't had the opportunity to get all that dressed up yet, as i've only been sly just over a week, but i have gone out in a nice button-up shirt and jeans and i felt like the man. and i know i looked good at that.

Richard, I was surfing the DishTV channels and ran on Frankie Avalon in one of the beach party movies sporting what else?, RED & WHITES on the beach in public--this is OLD and unbelievable.
