He can't.  Not much longer, anyway.  I was in that position a few times after growing my hair back.  Out of the blue, the sly bug would bite and I was powerless to resist.  Oh, I'd hold out for a little while, but finally it got to the point that I knew it was going to happen anyway, so I might as well get it over with.   The obsession to have a slick dome can be all-consuming until you've made it a reality.
