The Bald Man inside me has shined through
« on: September 30, 2007, 08:58:01 PM »
Hey guys and gals,

My name is Mike and I just wanted to explain how I joined this forum. I have been reading all of the great stories on this site and I just wanted to say all of you guys rock. Honestly all of you have been able to bring me back to life literally. Being 23 years old and having a receding hairline is truly no fun and it was just down right depressing. I used to say why me and why now at this time of life when everyone looks at your so called image. I used to be so angry and then I found all of you guys. Honestly I just wanted to thank all of you for helping me get through such a rough time in my life. Just wanted to say I am not ashamed anymore and I walk with pride with my slick scalp!

That's great to hear, kojack.  It is really a liberating feeling.  Suddenly all of the angst you were experiencing is gone, and you feel free.  It's also a good excuse to get yourself in shape if you're not already.  Now go take on the world, but please feel free to be a contributing member here, and let us know if we can answer any questions.
How is that Hopey / Changey thing working for you?

Hey Kojak,

Good to have you here.  Now that you are  bald, take a look at all the sly domes that are out there.  That in itself should help confirm your decision to shave it off.  Today is the day of the  bald man.  It is common and it is cool now.  So continue the path you are now on and stand up with pride!

Welcome Mike,
Great intro! Jump right in & post up often.
I think you'll find it only gets better - as Andre said, if it's not your choice it's natural to feel depressed & anxious a bit at first (I know I did) but it certainly needn't be devastating. The secret, if there is one, is to make it a part of your "image" - don't fight it ... embrace it .... sounds like that's exactly what you've done! Good on you & welcome to the family  O0
