I must admit, years ago, I'd have said the same - but i think American comedy has really come a long way since those days. There's been some really great American comedies .... I liked Frasier (of course) & Ali McBeal & Sex In The City was cool. Also loved Six Feet Under though I guess that's not really a comedy per se (Though I do agree with you Glenr re Scary Movie etc though the original was okay)

I do love British comedy though, Dad's Army & Fawlty Towers are of course, classics, , also liked Red Dwarf,  but also there's been some great more recent stuff like Drop The Dead Donkey (admittedly quite old now), Peep Show & Nightingales.

Re MySpace .... In case anyone's interested, I think my MySpace address is shown at the bottom of my posts though it's actually my music myspace page.

the Australian film industry had not made a good movie since 1992(Romper Stomper starring Russell Crowe). The releases of Wolf Creek and Chopper re-affirmed my hope for it.

Being an American who has lived in Australia for almost 7 years, I can say that there a lot of generalisations both ways.

Aussies think Americans are all loud mouthed gun toting lunatics who dont have a grasp on the rest of the world and know only of their backyard.

Americans tend to think all Aussies ride kangaroos to school and everyone lives in a tin shack in the outback.

Both countries are as ignorant of each other. We all have the media/newspapers/TV and Movies to blame for this.

Im right there wiht ya Glenr , movies like that are senseless to me.  Its just another way for someone who has nothign to do but sit around and write stupid scripts for movies and make money.  Give me all the action packed thrill seeking movies you want and I would be happy.

I like Brittish Dark comedies myself, like "Lock Stock and two Smoking Barrels" or "A Shallow Grave"

Cancelled my MySpace a few days ago. It became a texting session between me and my GF...and we have phones.  Think it was making BaldRob sick as well. !*u%e

It served its purpose, she found me there... :@`

Therefore, SBGs is the first site I now visit when logging on! O0

Hey thanks for all who keep up the heartfelt comms(through any means, not just MySpace)...few of you got to see my transition to happiness through that site...most of you can't recognize me smiling all the time now...the scowl is gone! :)
