So they are "out," huh?
« on: September 22, 2015, 08:36:45 AM »
A few weeks ago, I decided to try a full beard again and to let my goat grow out. This morning, someone printed out this article and left it on my desk.

http://www.esquire.com/style/grooming/a34269/scottish-model-says-hipster-beards-over/

So beards no longer are trendy. Boo Hoo.

I shaved my head because I wanted to, not because of some fashion editor's opinion. The beard is growing in for the same reason.

I think these articles are written by beard haters.  But I have never tried to chase the current style fad.  I think all the fashion industry does is try to push something different so they can market whatever they decide is the new fashion.

Some have been claiming that beards are out for at least the last year but I have yet to see any evidence of it.  Just look at all the TV commercials that feature bearded men.

My barber buddy read that article and he was happy.  He says that he is so tired of seeing every guy under 30 dressed like a lumberjack!

Taking advice of ANY kind from a model is like voting for Kanye West for president in 2020. Of course with the average IQ in America being around 98 (19th in the world) neither would surprise me.

I've sported a beard on and off for around 30 years and have never "followed fashion" I couldn't care less if beards are in, out or regarded with dread...imagine having to change your look every few months just in case some invisible (in your head) critic deemed you weren't "current"... how tiresome

Sad...

I did see that "Milly" as he is know, has chopped his beard down to about 1" long... loosing that glorious shape it once had. Sad,,,

Bear, I just spit out my drink!  Too funny.

Goatees have been out for over 20 years now yet I still see them all over the place.  Also if you are some puppet of the collectivist fashion gestapo then you shouldn't have a beard anyway since you are only a man in name only.

I'm curious about this article that appeared on your desk, was it a joke or was someone trying to convince you to shave? We're they not embarrassed to have been reading from a site like that?
