Headslick Question
« on: August 22, 2007, 08:28:22 AM »
Just bought a bottle of Headslick.  How do you use it?  Do you wet your head first and then apply or reverse that?  or wet it at all?  There are no directions.

I tried it on my face this morning and it didn't seem to get very slick until I went to wash it off.

Headslick is good stuff.  You have to get wet first and it works great.

As Skinhead said, wet your head first, then apply it.

What all the guys have already said.  BaldRob taught me the trick though on not using too much.  Dime size is usually about right.

I wet my head and apply the headslick with my left hand.  I am carefult not to get the left hand wet after that as I can use it to feel for spots I missed while adding more headslick and not washing headslick off my head.  It has worked well for me ...

Max, as the fellas' said, you need to wet the head first.
I shave with the HB in the shower. I wait until I am done cleaning my face and body, by then the hair is good and wet. Use a dime size portion; like Paul said, it goes a long way. I find I get great shaves this way.
And rinsing is easy.
I clean up the sides and around the ears when I shave my face. In my opinion I get the smoothest from my Atra plus. I will keep you posted as I try other blades.

Jdog, if you can get it, you will definitely like it. It works very well and keeps you lubed so the blade glides well.

Hopefully my sly bro Paul is going to help me get my hands on a few bottles of headslick.

Dime sized portion?! Wow that is hardly anthing at all. Must be good stuff. I know with KOS alphagel you still have to use about a matchbook sized portion to get all the head thoroughly lubed especially with 1 day stubble.

With headslick i do wet my head first and then i apply some King of Shave oil. On top of that I put on some headlick. The KOS oil makes for a razor-rash free shave. It's the best combination.

Razor, does your head stay oily afterward, or do you wash your head again? I am curious because that sounds like a nice smooth shave.

I tend to have oily skin, so I don't need any help with shine, lol. I am actually looking for Matte, and I can't find it in the stores here. I only see Headslick.

hi xnewyawka,

The combination of KOS and Headslick (the shaving cream) doesn't leave my head oily. After I'm done shaving with it, i rinse my head in cold water and a little soap to clean my head of shaving cream and stubble. Let me head air dry and then I apply some Headlube, which is the moisturizer. This comes in Gloss or Matte. I prefer the Gloss. I like a nice shiney noggin.  The headlube can feel a little greasy at first...but it dries up.

Hope this help....but the KOS and Headslick does leave my noggin nice and smooth.

Thanks for help guys.  Headslick is great.  Best and closest shave I've ever had.

Razorhead, thanks for the info. I am going to have to give that a shot.
 O0
I picked up some KoS shaving gel, haven't used it for the noggin yet because I love Headslick so much. Was wondering if it works well and if anybody has input on it.

I guess I will have to order the Headlube from the HB site, I haven't seen it in CVS or Walgreen's yet. I believe you can get them in smaller sizes too. That will help with the decision on Matte or Gloss.
Like I said earlier, I get a pretty good natural shine. lol

Here's a trick for you, wet your head, run in about a dime size dollop of http://bronnerbros.com/Products/hot_6_oil.html ($3 at Ekard's drugs, in the ethnic section) then rub a dime size dollop of headslick.  Best shave I've ever had.
