I recently stopped shaving for nearly 5 weeks, and I believe I detected a little thinning on each side of my front hairline. My flattop came to more of a point. So now, I can answer questions about why I shave my hair off by saying it is thinning in spots, so I am proactive and just shaved it all! That's going to be my story, and I'm sticking to it.
Bald by choice, and loving it!

There is no denying I am bald by nature, but every time I let my hair grow in a little, I can tell my recession is even more advanced!

Awesome!  Hey, if you get the opportunity - check out one of my cousins, he's been playing guitar for years (here at https://soundcloud.com/warren-hughes).  Look forward to hearing from you.  Also, have you ever considered shaving with a double edged razor?  Many people are starting to go with those in lieu of the cartridge razors.  We are actually in discussions to switch from cartridge razors to double edged razors.  Not only are the DEs more sanitary, they are less expensive.  We are hoping to bring this to our subscribers.

I have always(since starting the headshaving routine) thought about using a DE razor, but I'm way too apprehensive to go ahead and drop that kind of money on something I don't know I'll stick with. But I do want to try at least once to see what the difference is and how long I can keep the dome smooth for.

I haven't had a chance yet to check out your cousin, I'll give that a listen soon. Hope your Christmas/New Years is joyful and safe!

I know the feeling about the 'Oh Sh*t' moment. I started out shaving my head as a BBC guy. Over the last year or so, I knew my hair was thinning but never grew it out to assess the 'damage'.

I've been skipping shaving for about 4 weeks now. At first, it was only going to be a couple then I got curious to see how far advanced my thinning was. My hairline is receding definitely and I got a balding spot at the crown. Funny part is that I have single strand of hair that is still growing where my hairline originally was. That single strand of hair is my benchmark! I'm surprised at how far it has retreated and that the hair is not thick at all and I can see through the forest through a good part of my head.

I thought about keeping my hair and letting grow out further. I actually got a haircut to get the sides tightened so it looks neater.

This is where the cons of having hair come into play. I had to find a barber. I was working late a lot so I had to find a barber that had late hours. It cost me $20 bucks (including tip). Luckily I didn't have to wait! The haircut was pretty good, but the hair on top has a funky, frizzy texture to it now because it's grey hair and not as lush as it once was. So I had to use a little bit of gel or pomade to get the frizz out.  So I'm worrying about frizz! Then I had my family say, 'you look better with hair'. Yikes!

I'm still tempted to see what it looks like longer and the idea of it falling out and going naturally bald doesn't phase me. But at the same time, there is such an easiness to shaving the noggin and being smooth. And I know that I don't want people to get accustomed to seeing me with hair.

Yeah RazorHead, I know exactly what you're saying.  Once I decided that I wanted to just "let it go", I actually enjoy keeping it shaved.

I've just had this recently, got my wife to take a picture of my head, as I wanted to see how bald I am, didn't realise it is a lot more than I thought it was.
First started shaving my head on the 9th October 2014

Sir Harry,

Did you like that avatar?  I switched it up just "because".  It's actually our company logo.  Which do you like better ... with or without or 'bout the same?

I like both....I thought you had changed the avatar because you had cut yourself and the cut had healed...

I can relate to you situation Razorhead.  Sometimes on the weekends I get lazy and won't shave my head.  I get tempted to keep it going just to see how little hair I have but I see how sparse the stubble is and realize that I don't have much left and it doesn't look uniform.  I quickly change my mind about growing it out and shave my head.

Actually no!  But that's a damn good Idea.  LOL.  If I do cut myself, I'm going to switch it back.
