one week
« on: July 06, 2014, 10:02:28 PM »
Hi I shaved it all off love the look and feel and have people telling me it looks nice, most of my hair had already left me on its own.

The only thing I don't like is how fast it grows and when it grows out apart from feeling like sandpaper it hurts. Each hair on the sides feels like splinters. I shave it of in the morning and back to smooth and feels good.  Strange with all the research and pills and procedures to grow hair no one has come up with a pill or cream to stop it from growing.

Tried moisturizer that made the skin heal up over the hair.

Any ideas  as to how to make it feel better between shaves?

Welcome! You may want to wash with an exfoliant prior to shaving....or you may want to see a doctor/dermatologist to see if you have a case of sebhorric dermatitis. Good luck and keep us posted!

I didn't have the same experience as you ... but I noticed over the first few months there was a definite change in my scalp sensitivity. After many decades of having hair, the naked scalp needed some time to adjust to being exposed to light, air, etc. You may find similar changes as your Slyness settles into permanency.

Looking good.

Something that might help.   I use a scrunchy or squishy (I dont know what you call it, my wife bought it) Its a soft plastic thing you use with body wash and I use that to wash the dome right after I shave.   It will help in removing any of the dead skin and toughing up that newly bare skin.

Glad you joined us, sir.

Sounds like you have some very hearty follicles. I also do not like the sandpaper feel my scalp gets in the afternoon, so I often end up shaving twice a day to get rid of the five o'clock shadow. Once your scalp has had time to adjust to being shaved, those nerves up there will not be so sensitive.

Welcome.

second week

Head getting use to shaving, have tried various methods and creams. The sun is equaling out the tan and my mistake of sunless tanner. loving it can't imagine having hair on the head again. I get many compliments people like it and the shine. I feel like I have fans or something they expect to see the shiny head now : )

I've been shaving my head for about three years, and I have the same problem. My stubble is extremely coarse and feels like a very rough sandpaper.  I have recently started wet shaving with a double edge safety razor.  It doesn't really help the coarseness, but it seems to cut down on the irritation that comes from shaving such rough stubble.

If pills and procedures do not work then I will advise to get the hair regrowth treatment by safe clinic and well qualified doctors.
